Was the Korean thing racist? I think it might have been racist. Let's all nervously agree to not talk about that one.

"Pieced together?" So it's an R2 made out of spare set parts? or was it actually shot in the film? To me that's a huge difference. I hope the buyer knows what he got.

@LightRukia: Well... the refund system is doing exactly what it's supposed to do -> increase consumer spending by encouraging players to try games they might have normally passed on. There's no metric to determine how many people tried Rust because of the program and decided to keep it. They can only track the people who tried it and passed. It's not really about people not doing research, it's about creating an open environment where people can try games themselves despite reviews.

As for Rust, I watched Mr Fruit's multiple videos on the game and even joined his personal server when I decided to buy. I found that the reality of the game was very different than what was edited together in youtube videos. I never saw any videos that really conveyed how hard it is for a solo player, how much the game randomly drops frames, or the incredible amount of racist shit you run across. (Side note: I have no idea why this game draws in neo-nazis like a mouth to a flame.) So reviews only take you so far. Everyone gave Doom a good review and I hated that game's multiplayer with a passion.

@lonesamurai1: I watched Mr Fruit's entire 2 seasons of Rust gameplay. When I finally bought the game and joined his server it was NOTHING like what I had watched on YouTube.

@Jarten: This description of the game is so accurate that it should be at the top of the Steam page. I put about 400 hours into Rust and this perfectly described every minute of it.

To be fair, "not fun" and "bad performance" are two valid complaints about Rust. The game suffers MAJOR frame drops. I average about 80fps and the game will drop down to 5fps out of nowhere. I've even tried dropping down settings and dialing back everything in the performance tab. Nothing helps and everyone in the chat is always complaining about the same thing.

As for "not fun?" Rust is a tough game solo. I could see how new players could be immediately turned off after they get killed 5 times in a row just walking off the beach. It seems to me that Rust should stick new players in a PVE server for their first 2 hours just so that they can get a feel for the game and make some friends.

@Raidendude153: No shit. Why the hell does this entry form need my date of birth? I hate crap like this. If you want to give codes to gamespot members then just do it. I'm not jumping through hoops for a 24 hour beta.
