If they didn't have Relic (and the Warhammer 40k license) I wouldn't even care enough to finish reading this article. But the sad part is seeing more of relics work, and Dark Millennium Online, hinges on THQs (hitherto non-existent) ability to pull themselves together. Seriously, they just don't put out good games. I'm not sure what they expect to happen.

6 isn't above average when the averge rating on gamespot is 8. If game spot (game media...) didn't rate big-name games on an 8-10 scale, we really wouldn't be seeing an article like this.

Im one of the few people who miss tabula rasa. When an MMO dies, its the worst, because you can never go back...

After the very poor showing of games on Wii, I don't think I'll be getting a Wii U. Compared to the 360 and PS3, my Wii has gotten the least play time by far due to huge lack of interesting games.

Seeing as Battlefield 3 contained exactly 0% creativity, I wouldn't exactly expect them to take it as a quashing of expression either. It was more like a sad amalgamation of CoD and the sad state of the FPS. The game felt like self-parody. And seeing the Iran hate in comments, already, fills me with despair for our future. The people of Iran are as disproving of their treatment as anyone else in the world. Do not judge a people by the actions of their government, especially not in the Middle East.

Console ports are still a HUGE problem for us PC gamers. The actual concerns get clouded by the vitriol and the haters, but the truth is despite the over-reaction, it is a real problem. Dead Island is a recent example. Opening the door, the only instruction it gives me is to tilt the right control stick..? And I can't turn off auto aim at all? Its a disaster, from a game that was supposedly co-developed simultaneously on PC. Supposedly. But its far more common then these disaster stories. Even successful, well liked games, which were massive successes to the PC crowd and even times "Specific" to us suffer from these (inexcusable, IMO) mistakes. How many games must the menu be operated with the keyboard? Borderlands, if you've forgotten (Although I believe, it has since been patched). How many games have the font and icons so large it hampers the ability to see whats going on? Remember how Oblivion- another PC-centric release- could only display like 8 items from your inventory at a time because the font was about 72 point or something? It's become the norm. We've been abandon for so long I think people forgot you could make money on the PC. We've had such slim pickings in terms of large releases for so long, I think we've simply become accustomed to accepting these things as unavoidable, when it really shouldn't be seen that way.

"If you're American, you'll likely type something about freedom in the comments section, profess your love for the good-ol-US of A, and then sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" while setting off fireworks in your living room--or something like that. " So... you're asking us not to judge Australia by the stereotype... uh-huh...

I totally agree with this article! So many games would be made better with a more direct, more interesting antagonist. I specifically mentioned this as one of the faults of dragon age 2 as well. Seriously though, how many games do you think the villain is cooler then the hero? This is something that games need to bring back. It gives you motivation to continue, it gives you a sense of impending doom to overcome, it gives you a sense of accomplishment when you defeat them. It makes it personal, it brings you in, you know? Anyway here's a few off the top of my head... Jon Irenicus GLADOS G-Man Sauron Liquid Snake Saren Otsdarva/Thermidor Von Karma The Ur-Quan Nightmare

I don't have an addictive personality, so I'm lucky. Pretty much I play games when I have nothing else to do. I do get pretty into it, and I'm serious about it and I enjoy it, but it isn't an urge. Unless I just got a new game that I really like, sometimes I have huge urges to play it then, like a week or so. But that's the novelty factor lol.

I have to say, after playing real games (not all of this "collection of minigames" shovelware) I found the wiimote to be... well, sucky. Umbrella chronicles, Okami, and Twilight princess... I really felt the wiimote sucked. It didn't ever register what I wanted it to, or do what I was telling it to do, and I always felt I'd rather be using a regular controler. I really hope this helps. I already feel the Wii seriously lacks as a "real" gaming console, and unless this widget does what i hope it does, I think Wiis are going to be for casual party games. Period.
