I mean they really are. How can anyone dispute that? I mean this isn't my opinion it's FACT. It's not that I like them more. I probably like ND better but objectively valve is best. Why?
- Portal 2 (BGoAT)
- Half Life 2 (often claimed to be BGoAT)
- Half life
- Portal
- Team Fortress 2 (don't even like this one but people seem to worship it)
- L4D (never played it but people seems to like it)
How can anyone disagree?
Portal 2>everything, HL2>everything

Economy always will have ups and downs but if it weren't for consumerism you'd be milking cows right now.

Why are you talking to me? I'm not the one against consumerism.
Glitchspot, I was quoting that other guy[QUOTE="Heirren"][QUOTE="Cow4ever"] So why did you play OoT then? It's definitely not well made.AzatiS
Ocarina of Time is much more weller made than Half Life at least that much we can be sure to agree on.
Sorry but half life changed and revolutionize the best selling genre in video gaming. First person shooters. That alone is a huge achivement. Not to say that most experts vote it as the game of century and has way more awards than Zelda: OOT will ever see. Zelda:OOT was a fantastic game but best of all time? Why , because only 21 reviews in total when other games got 97?!! Naah..Far from the best , but surely one of the best. I agree. Except the "one of the best" partSo why did you play OoT then? It's definitely not well made.[QUOTE="Cow4ever"][QUOTE="peterw007"]
Except that's not true in my case because I'm not influenced in the slightest by popular opinion.
Heck, my favorite games on the PS3 are Ar tonelico 3, Eternal Sonata, and Valkyria Chronicles, of all things.
That makes me an incredible anomaly when it comes to gamers.
And yet...I still loved Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS.
Maybe it's possible that the game is actually really well-made?

I only played Half Life 2 and it is much more weller than OoT on every level. But it is known to smoke the first half life so that might be true.Everyone tells you so much how this is the best game of all time so you hype yourself to like it. I already stated some of my problems with the game.[QUOTE="Cow4ever"]

See that is an unnecessary childish rebuttal. Hype, what? At least state your problems with the game. Sheesh.

Nobody told me though. I'm the spoiler free type. I picked it up day one for the N64 and thought it was one of the most well designed games I've ever played. I played it one time. I just started it for the 3DS--the game is remarkable. It is funny that you mention poor puzzles because I recall seeing a lot of Ocarina "help" threads around here. Not only that, but outside of Portal, there isn't really anything in the ways of puzzles these days.
So it is nostalgia. The help threads are probably about stuff like how you get in Jabu Jabu's belly? It's just stupid. The puzzles was easy as hell. Yeah and Portal puzzles>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>OoT "puzzles". It's like really basic, moving a stone to be able to reach higher places. It's the uncharted level of puzzles lolEveryone tells you so much how this is the best game of all time so you hype yourself to like it. I was more skeptical than not when I first played it. In fact, I got bored and quit for a while because I thought it was overrated. But later I went back to it and it genuinely hooked me. I feel that the game design is made such that if OOT had shiny top notch graphics and animations and dual analogue controls, no one would know it was a N64 game. Undeniably, presentation and playability improve with each gen and single analogue controls are almost unplayable. I give you that, but in my experience, I feel game design has become less expansive and less creative than before. Then the game positively surprised you. This better than expected creates an illusion that the game is better than expected. Lol Im just kidding. Yes people have different taste. Anyway there's so much that makes this not hold up today in addition to the graphics. I mean this is just a gameboy game in 3D really. I mean more resolution, polys, aa, etc etc won't make hyrule more than just an ugly castle on a big lawn. With linear games there's obviously a different kind of level design but generally I feel games like doom, half-life 2 and demon's souls have much better level design.
You obviously brainwashed yourself with hype[QUOTE="Cow4ever"][QUOTE="organic_machine"] I think you're wrong. I played it about a year ago for the very first time and I had more fun with it than most games this gen. How can I be nostalgic if I never played the game before?Heirren
