I am building my gaming rig on a tight budget of $800 CDN. This is my setup.

LG DVD burner

640GB HDD

4GB RAM

AMD Phenom ll X3 720

Saphire 4870 512mb

Mobo i think is crosfiire ready (how do I tell)

I am unsure how much power I need. As i said before I have a tight budget and i found a case which comes with 500W but I do not know if that is enough for my setup. Please give me a good recomendation of how much power I need for a good price.

I am still trying find all the right parts for my gaming rig. I do not want t o spend more then 800 cdn. I have ben looking on newegg.ca and found some parts.

X3 720-I want a phenom ll and its cheap.

Mobo-I want crossfire but im unsure what to get.

GFX-4850 1GB upgrade to crossfire in future.

4GB RAM-G.SKILL 4GB ram

PSU-Unsure what to get I have been loking at 500W but again im unsure.

HDD-640GB I do not know if this is good enough.

Case-I have no idea just want it to be strong and within budget.

Monitor-Will be using a HD TV at star but will get a samsung T220 or T240

Mouse/Keyboard-I might just buy locally unless you can fit one in budget.

As you can guess this is a gaming rig. I know 3 cores is weird and all but its affordable. I need help on many parts. If i have missed anything just let me know. I am on a strict budget of no more then $800 because shipping will be expensive. Any opinions would be great. Thanks.

I currently do not have highsped internet available to me so i am stuck with dial upfor my home. I am starting to get into PC games and I want to play online. Alot of games have a minimum of dialup but I am just wondering if any games really support dialup at a half decent rate..

I was looking at quad cores until I found a Triple core for cheaper. I am wondering if a X3 720 or 710 is a good idea for modern gaming. I do not know how to overclock but if it is easy I would like to get the most out of my PC. Should i pay the extra for a quad core or just stick with a triple?

I am new to this stuff so I do not know how to overclock. If it is easy to do I would give it a shot but I am not that technical. I changed the mobo and it supports crossfire. From what I have been told I should go with 500GB of HDD but again im new to this so I dont really know.

How does this sounds:

Saphire 4850 1GB

500GB HDD

4GB RAM

500W power supply

AMD 9850 Black Edition

FOXCONN HDMI mobo A7DA-S

LG DVD burner

XION Solaris Case

subtotal: $747.92

Im not sure how good all this is but the mobo and CPU are in a combo price of $242.

Any opinons would be great. I might want a crossfire mobo and I do want a Phenom 2 but they are abit too pricey but its still an option

I am alittle unsure about the OS I was thinking about VISTA 64bit but I may just back up my XP SP3 and use that instead because it is less money.
