@gabusano @NTM23 @CraZkid37 That' a good point. I wonder how long xbox 360 repair teams will stick around. Hopefully for at LEAST the next 2 years after xbox one release.

@NTM23 I would love to see them sell updated games as well like they did with the Sega Genesis Collection, Sonic and Metal Gear games. It's becoming popular and I can see them doing this in the future. I know you mean the more popular and recent games but yea. If they release them highly discounted like those were (or even having a trade in for 360 games to get a discount for xbox one like they do with dvd-bluray trade ins at stores) i'd be all for it.

@gabusano I payed good money for things too. That's why I will still play the xbox 360... It's not like we are losing anything.

Are they really going to install a pop-up that forbids you to play a system and games you own until you “plug your machine” into the internet? Regardless of what they say, this seems a bit infringing as a consumer. Either they don't want to admit you can (because connecting and getting updates/advertisements is where the money is) or something is seriously wrong here.

The answers they are giving and all these articles i'm reading from officials making these comments still sound kind of odd. It's like they beat around the question.

@Defender1978 That's fine and makes sense. I have my 360 too and know it won't be going anywhere for at least another 18 months, thats why I don't care about BC right now. The same games are being made for both platforms anyway so I can't expect too much different in games that are going to share the platform. It wouldn't be worth only having a graphics upgrade. I don't have a cable box in my entertainment room so it might make more sense for me but the new machine won't be worth it unless the price is right.

@Leria @Defender1978 Wait, didn't they announce something like that? I remember hearing that being the possibility. That you can download older games directly (no disc) and ones you ordered you may get a deal or something.

@Defender1978 @CraZkid37 Is it not obvious a movie and a game are two completely different things?

@fanboy999 because one is a movie, a video file. Nothing more than moving pictures. The other is a playable game with many many layers of serious coding, video, text etc... Its a completely different type of data.

Besides, the older xbox is completely outdated compared to the new. It's like trying to use a floppy disc with one of todays' computers.

Anyone ever think the technology in this new system FAR outdates that of the old technology? Isn't it obvious why it wouldn't be backwards compatible? It just wouldn't work since they are 2 entirely different machines. This is a good thing. We have waited so long for a new system so it's time to move forward and stop living in the past.

People complained before that we don't have a new system, now people complain they can't utilize the old. Things never change, eh? (note: you do not have to get rid of your current xbox 360...)
