@Azure_Nova I've played the demo on Wii U and I played the longer demo that was at PAX last month. It's definitely a great game and the good things the reviewers have been saying are pretty much spot on.
@mikeasimov I think it's a matter of context. If the game is sold as having a fantastic story and then the story ends up being mediocre, it's going to lower the review score. Everyone knows what Bayonetta is about so the fact it has an ok story isn't going to dock points because it wasn't expected to.
@milky3 Not that it was a great game but Ninja Gaiden 3 wasn't exactly a children's game either and that was a launch title... Even Hyrule Warriors is more mature with the combat and the main villain, Cia.
@ggregd @CrillanK My point is don't put so much weight into reviewers. Talk to your friends who've played it and read discussions on the game by others who have actually played it. If possible, play a demo. If you're going to read reviews, at least read several from different sites and not put all of your eggs into the GameSpot basket. This is the mentality a lot of people in these comments are displaying by seeing this score and saying they won't buy the game now. That's what I was addressing. Obviously if you're tight on cash, you have to be careful about what you're buying, but I doubt all of those people making those comments are in that situation.
I personally played this game at PAX last month and I had a blast.
@pharoah_ramy @CrillanK I completely agree with you. My post was mostly sarcastic. Graphics are important but not to the point that people take it today. They're definitely not the most important thing. Story can sometimes take a back seat to other elements depending on the game type. Games like Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors don't really need a great story when it's all about the combat, action and visuals. I've played both and they're tons of fun :)
@Anton_Chigurh What you really mean to say is because it's not on XBO or PS4 and not a title from EA, Ubisoft, etc, it should not get a 10. Surprise! That's WiiU man!
@CoolCamel616 It's cheaper than the other boxes that people seem to be jumping all over. Happy to pay $400-$500 for something with no games but paying $250 for something that actually has tons of great games is a bad decision apparently.
