@Atzenkiller Games don't require the gamepad you know, right? In fact, the type of games you can play where one person has the gamepad and others have a regular controller are fantastic for social events. Have you even played a Wii U with multiple people, or at all even?
That said, there are games where two people can play on the same gamepad like an old table top arcade.
@Dissentioncc Yes easy to say after the fact, but what if there were other things about Borderlands that you weren't sure about before playing it. The graphics style may have pushed you over the cliff of never playing the game. Having played it, you know that would have been a big mistake, right? How do you know you haven't already done that with other games because of graphics? That's all I'm saying.
@Dissentioncc Perfect example of downgrading a fantastic game. The art style is one of the many things that makes that series stand out so much from crap like CoD and other realistic shooters. Imagine how many games you might downgrade to the point you don't ever play it and you start to see what I mean about missing out on great games that may be the most fun you've ever had.
@Dissentioncc If you do that then there are so many great games that you automatically lower the grade on because they're doing something stylized rather than "taking advantage of current graphics technology". That's a huge mistake and ignores the main point of gaming which is to have fun.
@Dissentioncc I like good graphics, but it's not the most important thing. In a game where realism isn't a key feature but the style they chose looks fantastic, then why knock it for bad graphics? It just sounds like hating really but that seems to be the in thing lately.
@Dissentioncc You didn't say they suck but saying new games look like they were made in 2005 is basically saying they suck. If that's not what you meant then you need to say something different.
@implodinggoat "Nintendo make great games and I'd love to buy them; but they haven't made a competitive console since the N64 and I'm not going to throw my money at a last gen console masquerading as a next gen console."
So you love their games, you just don't want to buy the console required to play those great games. Fantastic logic there. Not to mention their console costs a fraction of what the others cost and can play all Wii games. Instead of hating on Nintendo, hate on the 3rd parties for abandoning them. With 3rd party support, Wii U would be hard if not impossible to beat. But that's too hard to figure out for them apparently.
