@rosneck76 Same. Nothing shit's me more when I'm online & I get the old "Disconnected from XBox live" chestnut. That on an always online console would be infuriating to say the least which is why Sony will get my money for the first time since the PS1 if Microsoft commits to this facepalm of a strategy.
I'm an XBox fanboy, not ashamed to admit it either. That being said if these rumours are true & Microsoft plan to shoot themselves in the foot with a rocket launcher by forcing always online then they've got the last $ from me that they'll ever get. I can't understand why they'd be so stupid considering fast broadband connections are not as plentiful as people like to think. Plenty of people are still stuck with dial-up because there are no connections available in their area. People with 360's living in such areas will just buy a PS4 instead. Let's just hope there's at least one person left at Microsoft with a brain between their ears.
Considering that the population of Europe is almost 3x the population of the U.S then I fail to understand how they're miffed that titles sold 3x more in Europe than the U.S. Also 3.4 million physical units in 3 weeks for Tomb Raider (considering many successful games are lucky to sell that amount period) sounds pretty damn good to me. Considering the varying prices worldwide for games if you averaged out the retail cost per unit to $80 ($60 in the U.S to between $90 to $100 here in Australia, not sure if anyone's more expensive than us) then that's around $272 million in under a month, better than a kick in the nuts. Reboots can be tricky but overall I think Crystal Dynamics nailed it. I loved every minute of Tomb Raider & the sales figures are in my opinion pretty damn good for the kind of game it is.
