Comeon I use WPA2 with AES only my router too, which the DS has no wa of connecting, but whenever I wanna play DS wifi, I'll downgrade it to WEP temporarily.

It's a trade off..just don't leave any computers connected to the network while it's in WEP mode and I doubt anything bad would happen even if some guy manages to break in..

Should be perfectly fine, just don't go into multiplayer, which activates the wifi...

But then again, I'm sure alot of people using their laptops on the plane forget to switch off their wifi, and it continuously scans the air for wifi access point..so don't be a paranoid even if you do acdentally turn on wifi:D
