[QUOTE="D4W1L4H"]Even if Nintendo makes a console far ahead of the PS3 and 360, and maybe at par with the PS4 and new microsoft system, i can still see single-minded PS3 and 360 fanboys refusing nintendo and trying to reasure themselves that there current gen consoles are better. Heck, even if it outruns the PS4 and the new microsoft system. This new age of gamers cant compare to the real gamers back in the day.falconclan

Yes, real gamers. Because Sega fanboys didn't exist back in the day. I certainly wasn't on the playground spouting awesome marketing terms like Sega does what nintendon't.

Seriously though, I think you missed OP's point, if Nintendo releases this console this year or early next year, there is no way it will be close to on par with the PS4 and Xbox1080Q4700. At least not without costing like $700 at launch, or the new Sony and Microsoft consoles being vastly underpowered.

I highly Doubt it. Nintendo has always been the king of the videogame world. they have always managed to outrun its competiotors in terms graphics, gameplay, interface, innovation etc. They targetted the 'hardcore gamers' up until the wii. Nintendo decided to change its target market from 'hardcore gamers' to pracically everyone. 3-90. And now the 'New gamers' are saying nintendo is the underdog, making claims that Nintendo doesn't have interest in graphics, lacks support from third partys etc. So naive. Now Nintendo says they're coming back to targeting the 'Hardcore' area. So who's to say they cant. Infact, based on history, they can do it with their eyes closed. I personaly think the Wii was not made to compete aginst the 360 and PS3, Nintendo just wanted to be innovative. Here is what i said earlier to back me up.
MS and Sony most likley will release a new console soon after the new Nintendo system. Who's to say that the New Console wont be as good as the PS4 and new Microsoft system. Who ever thinks that needs to look up the history of gaming. Nintendo was known for releasing Video games at much higher qualities than its competitors. Nintendo has been the innovator since they entered the market, and we have them to thank for everything from the D-Pad to the Thumbstick to Wireless Controllers. The NES was released 8 Months before the Sega Master system, but it still won in terms of all aspects of gaming. In 1990, the SNES was next, it came out with shoulder buttons. 4 years later, Sony came out with playstation. Even with the 4 year gap, Nintendo still came out on top. In 1996, the first Thumbstick Controller came out with the N64, and of course Sony comes out with there Dualshock controllers two years later. Then, In 2002 the Wavebird was released for the gamecube. First wireless controller. 3 years later the 360 comes out with a wireless controller next. Do i even have to mention the PS move and Wiimote *cough* 4 years *cough* Nintendo was once the king of gaming, the invators, the leaders. then they changed there focus with the wii, and it worked. They sold approx. 84 mil. The most of the current gen consoles. And now nintendo are apparently changing its aim to the PS3 and 360 owners. I can tell their graphics are goin to be at par with the next gen consoles. Be warned, Nintendo is coming back to reclaim its crown. They're going to school Sony and Microsoft this time. And just watch them quickly copy Nintendos innovation. Let me assure you, anyone to say Nintendo is dying is surely being naive. Just watch em'. Nintendo knows what it's doing, they're playing it right. Nintendo is like the Parents of gaming, whilst Sony And Microsoft are like the Obnoxios and naive teens. This is not to say that other companies have not had their strengths as well. Microsoft has made huge strides in showing us what the possibilities of online gaming hold, and Sony is constantly pushing the technical limitations of their hardware. But please.......... Dont be naive. D4W1L4H

I'll admit it, yes the Wii Does have Inferior graphics, but instead of that, Nintendo came out with something new, motion controls. Nothing is new with the 360 and PS3 in terms of gameplay. They're just the previous generrations with hyped up graphics (in terms of gameplay). Gamers got bored of just using a controler, but sony and microsoft just kept milking the same thing. Meanwhile, Ninendo came out with a new form of gameplay. If you were really a 'Hardcore Gamer' you would have went out to explore this new world. Seriously? are you complaining about the wiimote flicking of the screen? You're suposed to point it at the screen you know. if it's not working for you, adjust the sensor bar. What fun would it be if you were pointing to the left and the cursor would still show up on the screen? I bet you would be complaining if that happend. Anyway, what makes a game a 'hardcore' game anyway? I personally dont like most FPS games, I prefer traditional side scroller shooters, much more fun in my opinion. Does that make FPS game not 'hardcore'? is it the games that MOST people enjoy? Or is it just a matter of the most heavily publicised game?

*Long list of games, many of them which are pretty bad*

That's still hardly anything compared to the 360, PS3, or PC library, if someone made a list for PS3, 360, or PC and included the same quality games as you did, it would probably number in the 300-400s.

Many of them which are pretty bad? Well, that really depends pn personal opinion, all of the games i listed were suprisingly better than expected for me. I have both a PS3 and an 360, as well as a wii, and to be honest, i think the exclusives on wii far out run the 360 and PS3 exclusives. (Just a personal opinion) Call me retro or whatever, but gaming these days isn't the same as it use to be. To many 'frag heads' and 'fanboys' roaming around calling themselves 'hardcore gamers,' and yet, Hating on other consoles and just following their crowd. Seriously? Movie critics dont just watch the SAW series and call it a day, they go and watch new and unknown movies. You dont just eat at the McDonalds franchise and call yourself a hardcore 'Foodie.' It should be the same for gamers.

[QUOTE="D4W1L4H"]I do Agree with the Pointer, but waving your arms around while trying to play zelda just didn't do it for me.goblaa

Then stop. It takes the most minor flick to use your swrod and there's no reason to ever raise your arm off you lap/rest for aiming.

The difference is when you play a game like skyward sword or red steel 2. That requires physical motion. But games like red steel 2 were a total blast and I want more like them because they are unique, new and fun. I really want an online multi-player deathmatch with 1:1 swordplay.

True, True.... But still, based on the response from most self proclaimed "hardcore" gamers, (which i dont think they are) and nintendo suposedly aiming to appeal to a new audience (?) they are most likely to scrap the motion idea and come out with a revamped idea. But probably the 14 yr old sony and microsoft 'fanboys' will have a biased view of nintendo as being only for "casual gamers." Afterall, the new pointer and motion idea opened the door to a new world of gaming. Gamers were bored of the current "plain control system" of gaming, but microsoft and sony just kept milking the same cow, while nintendo bought a new cow. This opened the door to new genres, like sword motion controls, cooking controls, etc. Then you saw Microsoft and Sony coming out with there versions of motion controls. I'm not hating on Microsoft and Sony, infact, i own both PS3 and XBOX, along with my wii. But i must say that it's the 'fanboys' which do annoy me. Why do sony and microsoft fanboys have to hate on eachother, as well as Nintendo fans? By the way, who's to say Nintendo wont come out with motion controls, alongside what the rumors are saying. I really do have full hope in Nintendo getting this one right again.
