@SpicaAntares Low price doesn't necessarily mean low value. The less you charge for something, the more people are able to afford it. So, despite the lower price, you make up for it in volume, maybe even moreso than you would otherwise.
Lower prices are why people buy used games in the first place.
As for everything else, I don't need to argue this, as other people have done so in a far more detailed manner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G_f8YBy39M
A car isn't digital media. It is not perfect regardless of either the passage of time or wear from use.
It's the norm to resell physical goods. You buy something used, you receive an inferior product compared to a new one; everyone who buys used is in acceptance of this.
Digital media is the exception, because it's not physical. Sure, you can argue the disc is physical, but that's only the vessel used to carry the actual digital content. You don't buy a disc, you buy the content on that disc; and that content is under a licensing restriction; you don't technically own it, you merely have a license to access it.
There is no wear to the game you play, to the movie you watch, to the music you listen to; it's identical to a new product, even a hundred years down the road.
This is why the online pass system was created; why serial keys were created, why DRM even exists. Used sales of digital media hurt people making the content; there is no argument.
I really feel like people who are not PC gamers just can't understand reality.
I've been digital for the last decade. When will consoles finally catch up? Oh yeah, not this generation because people freak out over not being able to buy and sell used games which does nothing but harm the industry.
Welp, in the land of illusionary freedom and constant surveillance and privacy invasion without our consent (or even knowledge), it's not that surprising that sarcasm is now classified as terrorism.
