[QUOTE="Vadamee"]Whats ironic is that I see a "Forza 3 9.4 @IGN" thread just above this one.aero250
lol i know.

lol I saw that too. I really dont understand this whole 'GT is untouchable' type attitude by some cows. Like you shouldnt even question it.

Can't wait. Good review, really went into the details as to why this is above the rest. There are so many little things in this game that if they were in 'other' racing games they would be considered revolutionary by some.

It makes sense that the Cell would be well suited to this type of thing.

Reason why PC gaming is dying is most of PC gaming benefits have slowly been adopted by consoles and there is a huge issue of piracy. Yes, games can be pirated on consoles but to a far lesser extent than on PCs. Next gen, if consoles add dedicated mouse/keyboard support, ability for users to share mods etc, there will be nothing left for PC except for ability to have latest hardware available.

dinb

While consoles have adopted some of the benefits of PC gaming, its still way off. As both a PC and console gamer, they serve to suit very different tastes. There are certain games that you will never see on consoles, there are mods that you will never see on consoles. PC gaming will never die, it may ultimately become niche in certain respects, its the one platform that will always be supported. Consoles come and go but there is always some indy dev with no budget willing to make the next portal/counter-strike or even Stalker mod.

Consoles rely entirely on profitability, PC gaming is the only platform that can take what ever the market throws at it. Basically it can exist at any level and will never die.

This is going to sound really fanboyish but it's the truth.

I saw the amazing screenshots for this game, like in this thread (even the unmodded ones) so I bought this game and it looked pretty bad, the foliage looked horrible and everything seemed really REALLY jaggy, I also got terrible performance... tried to play it but after 20 minutes I gave up and uninstalled the game.

Now these screenshots make me want to install it again, but I just need to know what's up, afaik I had it on highest settings (without AA obv considering I was getting like 20fps)

I lowered some graphical settings and still got terrible performance.

I have E8400 @ stock
2gb ram
4870

I was running @ 1440x900 btw.

I guess the poor graphics and poor performance just made it really hard for me to stay interested... was also a little confusing and I was only 20 minutes in.

Brainkiller05

I was like that when I first bought it, I tried it for about half an hour and couldn't get past the first mission. I didnt play it again for months. Then I downloaded all the4 latest patches and it run tons better. The bug in the first mission was fixed and I made some progress. As the game went on, I was really drawn into the game world, atmosphere and exploration. The beginning is slow but if you keep going the game gets really good.

I've since replayed it with the Oblivion Lost mod and the graphics are awesome, especially at night time, its a lot harder but it makes it so much more scary. My only complaint was constantly having to stop myself bleeding to death. Trust me, if you persevere with the game, it really becomes scary and atmospheric.

After hearing endless complaints on how annoying kids are on Halo 3 it occured to me..

We all know that the Wii is doing so well because every kid wants one. Well could this be the same reason Halo is so popular?

I mean its rainbow like colour scheme would appeal to kids more than a game like Killzone 2. Example:

Kids would most likely go for a more cartoony type game, over a more realistic one.. As sales show, and I have proof of this.

Halo 3 has sold 10,200,000 copies (VGChartz)
Results 1 - 10 of about 7,050,000 for kids playing halo 3. (0.23 seconds)

If you divide the google results by total sales it shows that kids make up 70% of sales.

Okay now Killzone 2 has sold 1,930,000 copies
Results 1 - 10 of about 85,800 for kids playing killzone 2. (0.21 seconds)

Which means that kids make up only 4% of the Killzone 2 sales..

What do you make of this?

PS_John

When I qued up in line at midnight for the launch of Halo 3, I did notice a large number of beards! Funny that!

[QUOTE="S3P4eeever"]

[QUOTE="adamosmaki"]and this has to do with gaming in what way? You wanna proof PS3 is more powerfull? Show me a good looking multiplatform game that runs better on PS3 than on my 8800gt equiped PC because unlike PS3 i can run all multiplatform games at 1080p max settings with 2-4xAA and usually framerates 40-60fps Now again what good looking ps3 games do that? You can stuck at your 600-720p res and noAA and 30fps while i will continue playing at 1920x1080 with AA and 60fpsadamosmaki

GT5 WILL BE 1080P NATIVE, so im not stuck at 720p as you lied.+ multiplat games suck.

Gt5 is 1280x1080 (not sure about that). Even if thats not the case well done you got 1 decent looking game at 1080p while i'm as many pc gamers run almost all of the games at 1080p Also if you think multiplats suck then you must be satisfied with those 10-12 good exclusives sony got since 2006 and you mustn't play to often. I on the other hand i need more games than jsut 10 games in 3 years

Exactly, there is consistently a difference between the PS3 and a PC with an 8800GTS. DX10 + 96 Stream Processors + Higher Res Screen Resolution + More Polys being rendered etc...> RSX + Cell

imo both games look great... I still think FM3 has better overall visuals when it comes to background/tracks compared to GT5p but in the end i have no dounbts GT5 will be the best looking racing game on consoles once released..

Malta_1980

Yeah this is pretty much my feelings on the matter aswell. I think there has been a lot of mindless bashing from both sides. Both games have been prmoted to death will bullshots by fanboys. Forza 3 has taken a lot of flak lately on these boards and the same will happen to GT5 as its release date comes closer. I actually think this thread was a breath of fresh air for once. :D
