They could easily fit MGS4 on a XBox 360 disk if they took out all the cut scenes, which ruin the game to start with. The game is basically 95% movie and 5% gameplay. They could have used all that blu-ray space for tons of playable levels. Oh well, I've always prefered the Splinter Cell games anyway.

The thing that really irritates me is that you still have to push a button to run. This means that you have to take your thumb off the right stick if you're using the move/strafe - turn/aim setup. I don't understand why they would let you have dual analog control for walking, but not for running. In this day and age, why would you not be able to move faster by pushing more on the thumbstick. I would also like to be able to move a little bit with my weapon drawn, like with Dead Space. Also, I can't stand that the game doesn't pause while you open your inventory. Oh yeah, it would be nice if you could quick select using the diagonal directions on the d-pad to make more items available.

If they fixed all those things, the game would be incredible.

I like the PS3, in fact i have two of them. Its been disappointing in some regards, but nothing could live up to the Sony ( and sony fan-boy ) hype. Its a solid machine with nice features. That said, it sure does not seem like the market place is interested in the system at all. Like the TC said, in retail stores across the county it is very sad and lonely in the PS3 isle. The same could be said about the Blu Ray section too...occasionally i see people gawking at the movies, but then quickly move away when they see the prices. Its a case of one to many consoles this generation. If PS3 disappeared off the retail shelves, no one would notice or complain that much.Videodogg

Well at least one person on here agrees with me. That's basically what I was trying to say, that the PS3 is a great system, but people just aren't interested, and I don't understand why. I guess it's because I'm a technology freak, because I also don't understand why all these people new to video games would CHOOSE to play Wii games with inferior graphics and no HD. I want the best possible graphics and picture quality possible. It's a fact that good graphics and HD (especially with movies) make the experience much better.

I'm getting worried now about the PS3. For one thing, the Wii is mopping the floor with the other consoles in terms of sales, and the PS3 continues to remain in last place. Everywhere I go, everyone is in the Wii isle of the store, some are in the XBox 360 isle, and no one is in the PS3 isle. This shows that most people are more interested in price than high technology, high definition, great graphics, great features, and great games that have some depth to them. Because of the Wii, people who have never played games before think that all games are like Wii games, which are kiddy party games with horrible graphics, no HD, and no depth. I bet every Wii owner is using the composite cable that came with the system, so they don't know they aren't getting the best picture they can get. I'm afraid the Wii is going to hurt the sales of the other consoles to a point that it's going to ruin gaming for all of us hardcore gamers. Pretty soon, all games will be kiddy party games in standard definition.

The second thing is the price drop of the XBox 360 to $200. Sales of the 360 have jumped 60% because of this, and it's even outselling the PS3 in Japan. The 360 even got a complete makeover of the menu system to function more like the XMB on the PS3, and the Elite version has HDMI output. The thing that's the most frustrating and disturbing is that we mostly get very poorly done garbage 360 ports because developers are too lazy to figure out how to program for the PS3. Also, way more people own 360's than PS3's, so the developers ignore us.

It's a crying shame really. The PS3 is the best of the 3 consoles, but it looks like it's going the way of the Dreamcast. The PS3 has a Blu-Ray player, SD card slot, the XMB which is easier and more user friendly than the other consoles, better features, the virtual PS3/PSOne memory cards, a regular PC hard drive so it can be swapped out easily for a larger hard drive, supports wallpapers and themes for the menu, and you can download and transfer other peoples game saves from your PC to the PS3 via SD card or flash drive.

I guess people don't like or care about any of that. They would rather play 'Barbie Gets A Makeover' with their Wii nunchuck in standard definition.

OK, I get to the screen where it says, "new game", "load game", etc. When I select "new game", it just takes me back to the main screen where it says, "push start". This happens over and over. I cannot start a game or get to the options menu. Does anyone know what the hell is going on?

I can't understand how anyone can possibly prefer the blade system over the PS3's XMB. You can access things 10 times easier and faster with the XMB. With the blade system, you have to go into 5 different screens to get to what you want, then you have to back out of those 5 screens. On the XMB, you just push the d-pad left or right, and then down, and press x. To exit a item, you just push left on the d-pad.

I got Nuts and Bolts and I'm very disappointed that they went completely away from the platform element. I downloaded the original Banjo Kazooie from the XBox Live Arcade and I'm having more fun with that. It looks great in 720p, and you can control the camera with the right stick like a real 3rd person game. Another great thing is that when you leave the world and re-enter it, the game remembers how many notes you collected, so you don't have to start all over again like with the N64 version. I wait for Banjo Tooie next year.

I want Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, the DOA series, Splinter Cell series, and PGR series on PS3. That way, I wouldn't need to keep my XBox 360.

I'm right there with you. I am very disappointed with Homecoming. I HATE and DESPISE the combat system. I love the fact that normal movement is dual analog control, so I can't understand why they didn't make the combat system dual analog control. That would elimenate having to go into combat stance with lock on mode and all that dodging crap that doesn't work. With dual analog control (like Hitman), you can fire your weapon while running and strafing at the same time. It also makes getting behind enemies much more easy. They also need to start making the Resident Evil games control like the Hitman games. I don't want to have to stop and stand still to fire my weapon.

I also don't like the level design and atmosphere at all in SH Homecoming. To me, Silent Hill 2 is still the best of the series by a long shot. It has the best environments, level design, and atmosphere, and it's the creepiest. Homecoming tried to be too much like the SH movie, which was terrible and didn't have the SH feel at all.

The aiming in the first Far Cry was so god aweful and horrid that it made the game literally unplayable for me. Even if you moved the stick just a little, the cross hair would wildly bounce back and forth on each side of the enemy, but never actually land on the enemy. If they didn't fix that for FC2, I'm going to pass.

I would still go with Resistence 2 anyway because I think the first one is still the best FPS on PS3.
