@CrouchingWeasel: How about you should read his comment again? with "none of the games on consoles and none of the developer support", he is clearly saying steam machine won't have many games, I know the truth hurts but try taking the time to think about what you write.

I think this is poor timing on valve's part, they should have planned ahead for the next gen consoles, had they planned it ahead they would have been able to compete better, the PS4 has far too much of a head start to catch up to, it gained so much popularity in the console market that even the X1 and WiiU are being overshadowed, the chances of people gaining an interest in a new console group is very small, they could have also used the extra time to get some good marketing started, because lets be honest, nobody besides gaming enthusiasts know what steam machines are and how much of an advantage they have over traditional consoles, mainstream audience aren't going to do the research.

@drizzygadget: Steam has way more games than consoles, like WAAAY more, all consoles really have are exclusives for those specific gens, from an investments point of view the steam machine would offer vastly more bang for the buck especially when you add to it that games are much cheaper on steam, but of course most people don't know that, I think after this valve should focus firepower on marketing (because sadly people respond to ridiculous commercials instead of doing research)

@Zorlac: I say that about every exclusive ever, exclusivity is an obsolete practice, it doesn't benefit the gamers anymore, only the companies, its a means for them to sell more systems nothing more and nothing less.
