This is where the phrase "cartoon violence" comes from. It means that violence is depicted in a way that is unrealistic. Your typical R rated action movie is usually filled with more gore and blood than I've ever seen in a videogame. I think he's got it backwards. Violence that people find disturbing is way more harmful than seeing Blade cut off some vampires head. The beginning of Saving Private Ryan has always bothered me way more than anything from a movie like Saw
