@Megawizard: I have no idea why you think I'm being hostile. Maybe I have a blunt style or something, but it's certainly not aggressive.
And to the point, it's the networks resources they're using. CN/AS gives them the money to make the show. Which is what I meant when I said you work hard to get the contract. It's like sports contracts. Rookies don't get paid the big bucks right off the bat. They have to play a few seasons to see the lucrative deals. Most businesses, especially tv, work much the same. Which is why it's the opposite of what you think. You have to put as much into it as you can early on, so you hopefully get ,say, an unheard of 70 episode order.
@Megawizard: according to them, yes. Look up some of Harmon's interviews on the delays. He's notorious for being a perfectionist. And anyway, have you ever had a job or gone to school? Did you get rewarded for doing a shitty job? Sure, some have natural talents that let them breeze through, but most people have to put forth the effort. Even most of those who do get through easy will hit the wall eventually, and the longer it takes the worse it will be when they do.
@Megawizard: in the real world, you have to earn a contract. You work hard, and put your best effort out for everyone to see. Then you get the big contract.
