This shows that Larabee could turn out to be really interesting. In this test the Cell is better than the G80 but in some others tests the G80 would own the Cell so bad it wouldn't even be funny. I really want to see how GPGPU turns out.

Do not compare XDR ram to DDR2 and 3 ram. You can't compare them directly. XDR ram has much less bandwidth tan DDR2 and DDR3 ram. XDR ram at 3 GHz should be comparable to DDR2 at 667MHz or posibly 800MHz.

Xenos is comparable to a X1950 Pro which is really the X1800XT. So Xenos > 7600GT or 6600 GT for that matter.

RE5 looks really nice but its not comparable to crysis. Its amazing the ignorance of console gamers thinking that RE5 looks better than crysis when it clearly doesn't. But like some say, whatever makes them sleep at night.

All AMD shows are synthetic benchmarks. Intel have shown benchmarks that show a 15-20% increase in certain apps. Anandtech previewed Barcelona and it showed it being a little slower that conroe at the same clock speed. If penryn launches at high frequencies then Amd is in trouble. For now I say Penryn will be faster.

Remember that when the 8800GTS 320 MB is in SLI only 320MB of memory can be used making it useless for higher resolutions. I would suggest getting a single 8800GTX.

If you really want to enjoy Supreme Commander in all its glory you will need a quadcore. By experience i can tell you that even an overclocked X6800(high en dual core) has trouble with this game on huge maps and lots of units on screen and it lags when the armies meet in one spot. A q6600(quad core) runs it so much better and is smooth as butter. If you are looking for a good gaming computer for the next years i would suggest waiting for the july price cuts. The q6600 will only be priced at $266.

The RSX is based off the 7800 series and the GPU communicates with the memory via a 128 bit membus. I am pretty sure the memory bandwidth is around 20 GB/s.So it would be a castrated 7800 series video card or very close to the performance of a 7600GT.

I find it hard to believe the benchmarks done at DT considering that the 3Dmark06 of the HD X2900XT and 8800GTX were almost the same. I know that this benchmark doesn't mean actual performance but it does give an idea of where performance should be. The X2900XT is struggling to beat the X1950XT by 5% or so in some benchmarks. Something is wrong with the card if the DT scores prove to be backed up by a site like Anandtech. I really hope whatever problem the card has is resolved for the good of competition.
