Bioshock 2: Done!

Just finished Bioshock 2, great game, 9.0 material. Kind of glad I stuck with it too, because at the beginning, it felt like more of a 7. Well, you could argue that this game is awesome since I actually finished it :P (honestly, I've got a ton of games that I've yet to finish past halfway). Well, I guess I can uninstall it now, since I doubt there would be any DLC (well, maybe a few multiplayer maps, but not my thing) to freshen up the game. What can I say, the weapons are awesome, the plasmids just as great (maybe better) as you remember, and tonics have saved my ass in hundreds of situations. Anyway, happy Valentine's Day to all you married/taken men (I don't think I have any broads here), and I'll be enjoying my two days off :D.

Now I'm Starting To Enjoy This Game!

Bioshock 2, that is. When I first started the game, I was rather suprised at how feeble a Big Daddy I was :?. I mean, weapons were completely worthless, I'm hugging hacked med stations during heated battles, and frequenting trips back from the vita chambers to face...a lowly Splicer. Well, a few hours later with some sweet tonics and weapon upgrades, I finally feel like a walking tank (and I just got an achievement for taking out a Big Sis without dying! :D).Granted, I still end up biting the dust from time to time, at least it's not every two minutes :P. Now, when I'm rescuing those little girls, it's basically taking candy from a baby...albeit a big, scary one that throws missiles at my face. And when that Big Sister comes out...well, I'm still pissin' my pants, but at least I can take her on now! Anyway, great game, and if anyone wants the first Bioshock on Steam, the offer still stands :D (that thing isn't going anywhere! :P). Oh, and if anyone wants Red Faction Guerilla as well, let me know (I'm thinking of pre-ordering Metro 2033 as well...sadly, it gives me a free game I ALREADY HAVE! :x).

Mass Effect: Round 2

Well, I beat Mass Effect 2 the other day, gave it a 10 (yeah, I can overlook the few times I got stuck on a doorway or platform :x) and I'm about to do it all over again. Although I am a little baffled how the loading screen sometimes tells about importing your character to ME3...I'm guessing the game is about a year or two away, not to mention the (hopefully) generous amounts of DLC to look foward to :?. Still, I guess that's one incentive to keep us playing. And on another note, just finished the Return to Ostagar quest for Dragon Age. I think I just finished it in a little under an hour, but it is five dollars well spent...although I recieved a quest from a party member at that time as well, which I can't do since the world is locked off since I beat the game :x (and I'm not willing to undo 30 hours of my life just to put a smile on a fictional person's face :P). Anyway, take care guys, and I guess the next blog I'll be writing will be about how awesome Awakening was :D. Whoa, that's over a month without me!

As A Gamer, I'm Slipping Nowdays

Pretty soon, people are going to call me the Senile Gamer :P. The past few months, quite a few big titles have slipped my mind, and I only knew they came because I just so happen to browse into the store and see the box on the shelf. Oh, and let's not forget the half dozen games that I reserved and forgot to pick up (would you believe that I still had Bioshock reserved all this time, but never knew about it until the other day?). Today, MAG came out which really blew my mind, because I forgot to tell my friends about it (they're the COD type, so I was going to buy it if they were willing to). Well, I find it ironic that I spend a few hours of my free time on this site, and some games still manage to slip my mind. Anyway, in other news, I've been playing Mass Effect 2 non stop since it launched. Really suprising, actually, since I tend to take long breaks in between games before finally finishing them. In other words, this game is that awesome (last game I actually dedicated myself to was Dragon Age, and before that, Resident Evil 5). Although the depressing part is that I'm trying to get this guy at work to try out the game, since he loved Dragon Age so much (which I take with a grain of salt, because he actually skipped through all the dialogue to jump into the action moments :?...blashemous, I tell you!) Anyway, take care fellas, and I'm off to play some ME2. Yeah, I've got a really productive responsibility :P.

DA:O Done, And A 10, As Promised

Just finished Dragon Age, and it truly is a masterpiece. I'll admit that I reloaded a save here and there because sometimes going the good route cost me an ally (honestly, there are some party members that I didn't want to part with...I'll just leave it as that, for spoiler's sake :P). The dilalogue that made up 80% of the game is expertly crafted and kept me talking to every single person in the game (yeah, it was that interesting!), the locales you encounter put Uncharted 2's world to shame, and the enemies you encounter go way beyond epic (the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest is my personal favorite...it starts off completely creepy, then ends with a breathtaking conclusion). The ending gave me the feeling of a heroic accomplishment and some sadness (those of you who've beaten the game will know why ;)), and what else can I say, one of the best games I've played. Well, I'm eagerly awaiting that ball-breaking ($40...seriously!?) expansion to come out, and until then I'm pre-loading Mass Effect 2 (about damn time they allowed me to do this! :P). Anyway, take care guys, and I don't feel like writing a review for the game, so just consider this paragraph as my tip of the hat to Bioware :D.

DA:O May Just Be The Next 10 I Give

Granted, I only played about four hours worth of it so far, but this game is simply amazing! Not many times am I so quickly to judge a game, but then again, I haven't been so immersed in a game in such a short time period. I mean, yes, this is Bioware and shouldn't be questioned, but this just may be their best work yet (KOTOR comes real close...but then again, I'm a sucker for medival periods). Now if I can just get the damn DLC to work...seriously, I got the game off Steam, and the product keys don't work! Anyone able to help me on this is much appreciated :D. Anyway, take care fellas. EDIT: I finally got the registration to work! I e-mailed Customer Support, got a reply, then typed them back in, and now patiently waiting for the DLC to load :D.

*Boom!*

Yup, get used to that sound all night today :D. Possibly the only time of the year we're allowed to blow things up without getting arrested. Here, it's raining pretty heavy, so I'm laughing at the fools who are failing at lighting fireworks (seriously, it's not as loud as it should be :P). I'm going to have a few beers and call it a night. Anyway, Happy New Year's fellas and have a great '10 (doesn't quite sound right without a zero, does it?)! Oh, and for all you guys who love a great explosion: my boss told me about duct-taping two boxes worth of sparklers air tight, leave one out as a fuse, and watch armageddon ensue in bite sized convenience. Apparently, it was an explosion so loud it shook the windows from stores across the resturant, and scared the hell out of everyone around. I wasn't around that time, but maybe next year...:D.

Merry Christmas, Gamespot!

More specifically, you guys :D. (I could care less about the 62% that make up internet trolls and fanboys :P). Enjoy the awesome meals, time with the family/friends, and...what else, seeing what really sweet gifts we got. Take care guys, and happy holidays!

&$#@!! Episode 2

Life has many conflicts, but I never thought that purchasing a laptop would be such a huge pain in the ass. First, I saw this sweet Alienware laptop, with some minor tweaks, turned out to be something I was willing to afford. I took out a $2,000 loan from Dell (which I'm estimating I can pay back in about five months, giving the holiday bonuses and tax return) and let my imagination go wild. Anyway, I'll admit that I went over the budget a couple times, but eventually built a model I was proud of ($1,970 total, including tax and shipping...yeah, I like to stretch it :P). After an hour or so, I got an e-mail telling me my order was put on hold: unable to obtain authorization from Financing...so I call the customer support number in my e-mail, and let me tell you...if you thought Microsoft customer support was horrible, I was put on hold about six times with one minute of conversation each break :?. To top it off, I couldn't make a lick of sense what the operator was saying, so all I could make out of the conversation was my message was sent (about my purchase), and something should come in my e-mail or snail mail in about 3-5 days...seriously, I had to fill about a half dozen apps just to create my Dell account, half an hour building my specs, filling out my personal information at least three times, waiting for an approval for a loan, then have it all crash and burn over my order being on hold...honestly, I was hoping to get it in my hands before Christmas, and if it went according to plan, I would've had it by the 21st. So, I have no idea what's up with my order. I've been checking for the past two days, and it's still in the pending process. Well, if worst comes to worst, I could just save up a couple paychecks and pay the thing off in full (and maybe add in more stuff I had to kiss goodbye :P) by the end of January. So, nothing much I can really do but wait and see, and by then I should have the money to fully tweak the thing anyway, so I really have nothing to lose but patience (and for someone like me, that is torture :P).

Super Glue...

That's right, this blog is dedicated to super glue. Without it, I'd be screwed. On what would otherwise be a pretty sweet day...the last of those dreaded 16-hour shifts, found my father whom I've never seen in 20 years united, cousins that rarely show up come over today...and to end it with a bang, the top part of my desk falls off, lands on my laptop, and somehow rips off two of the keys. And to make it worse, those little small things that hold the keys in place got snapped in half, and one of the tiny hooks that hold it in place got bent. I'm pissing my pants here. This thing is my baby! But luckily, two things occurred: I had a flashback of a childhood memory where I superglued my fingers to the wall, and it happened to be the print key and Ctrl key on the righ side, which I never use anyway. So I walk to 7-Eleven, buy a pack of super glue (and some Monster energy drinks...I'm stressin' here!!)...and what do you know, it works...sort of. Well, at least I don't have two holes that look like missing teeth on my computer, right? And who cares if the keys are a little wobbly...it's just purely cosmetic, so I don't have the urge to chuck it on the ground and say, "oops...time to buy another one." Lesson learned: never buy a desk that costs $120 and is made of snap on parts, and don't pile a high school's semesters worth of books on said desk. Well, cheers for me, once again, for thinking on my feet (okay, not the brightest idea I've had, but at least it works for a strange turn of events at 12 a.m.).
