@lyhthegreat: Hey unlucky people on this page without an autolike. Your first one is on me. Just correcting what seems to be a glitch. Pay it forward if you see someone else whose comment doesn't have an autolike.
Anyone that isn't a spammer anyway... Nobody likes spammers...
@suppaphly42: Yeah, you're right. It's good that you can at least express your point of view completely on here in a comment, and not have someone butt in and try to derail you. There are downsides though - at least when you're talking to someone in person, you actually know if they're listening or not.
I posted a comment about how I have pre ordered Fallout 4, but don't feel ripped off because I bought the GOTY Editions of Fallout 3 and Fallout NV. So I'm helping the devs by paying full price for a game this time round. I got way more than my money's worth out of the last two titles.
I thought my arguments were sound, and was prepared to debate the pros and cons with any user who had something constructive to say. Instead first reply I got was this:
"I read all of that and still don't see what point you're trying to make, if any :-P"
I couldn't even think of a way to answer the question. I knew he was joking, but I didn't know which part of the sentence was intended as a joke...
Was he joking about:
a) Not being able to see what point I was trying to make?
b) Actually having read my post at all?
If he hadn't actually read my post at all, then there was no point in providing a further explanation. I knew nobody else would reply to my post after that. Topic officially derailed...
The same guy comments on a different post of mine, this time in the GS News page. I actually agree with him, and say so. Yes, he's right again. Then I go on to congratulate him on killing my previous long post so skilfully by posting an essentially indisputable comment. Ok, he wins again.
Thing is, if he'd actually just picked my previous topic at random and joked about reading it, he's got no clue what I'm on about in the first place. He doesn't even know me.
I misjudge his next open ended response, wrongly assume he's trolling me with serious intent, and troll him back. You actually read my trollish comment back to him, and asked me if I actually knew him, and if not, why the sudden escalation in my post?
