@loafofgame @Dissentioncc @DARREN636 No, I'm dismissing this review because this is a regular thing for VanOrd and this site in general. They put too much of their own personal biases into their reviews here. Carolyn actually knocked GTAV because of misogyny.....Kevin did the same to Duke Nukem Forever. It's like how do you not know that both of those series have been littered with over the top non-politically correct jokes for years?
Your point about the consensus is nonsense because these people are supposedly professionals. You make my point for me. The fact that they didn't collaborate to reach that consensus makes it even more important and useful as something to take seriously. Most reviewers are giving this game at least an 8/10. I haven't played it yet, but I'll take their word for it over two or three bitter reviewers who shouldn't be playing it in the first place.
@DARREN636 How do you people continue to fail to realize that a PROFESSIONAL review should be more than just a personal opinion? I absolutely loathe Nintendo and Xbox exclusive games. I refuse to even play them. However, if it was my job to review them, I'd have to remove my bias and be as OBJECTIVE as possible in my reviews knowing that other people enjoy them. This idea that it's okay to fail miserably and be so off from the general consensus is entirely mind boggling.
No, but voicing displeasure and bringing up his continued incompetence might get him canned like Tom and Caro. When people suck at their job they tend to get fired. Tom should have been fired the day he released that TLOU review.
No it won't. My point is more encompassing than just this one game. It's been a trend. And it's not just about the scores either. The content of the reviews are littered with bs reasons seen as "the bad" in most of them.
Nope, you asked why people care. I gave you one reason why people might. Truth be told, idgaf about this game. It looks like it could be fun. I'm just tired of seeing my once favorite game site continue to go down the drain.
I'll say it again. When someone's reviews for games outside of his or her favorite genre (medieval RPGs in this case) are consistently lower than the consensus and are littered with pathetic reasons for those lower scores (environmental obstacles in forza lmfao really...), there comes a point when that person should not be reviewing games outside his or her favorite genre.
