@sakaixx: I'm pretty sure he's referring to those inexperienced with the series as a whole. While those familiar with the games are used to the jump in enemy difficulty when transitioning to high rank or fighting endgame monsters like the fatalises (Fatalisis? Fatali?), I can see someone who has never played an MH game being thrown off by the sudden increase in difficulty.

I don't think I'll ever forget being one-shot by Black Fatalis the first time I ever fought him by him simply strutting forward and touching the tip of my toe.

Completely agree there on the first two points. They made an hour+ of the movie completely useless, and while the main characters got development they completely wasted the supporting ones (Rose going from being disgusted to enamored - rather than simply friendly - with Finn came out of nowhere, and the less said about Holdo or Snoke the better :-/).

@Greyfox-101: While I disagree with your analogy for the reasons Smosh150 mentioned, you do have a point about the whole "not being there previously doesn't mean something new won't show up" concept. I guess I was thrown off by the suddenness and sheer level of it and thus didn't think of that. While I still dislike the execution of the scene because of the whole "reducing the duel's awesomeness" thing I mentioned before, you made a really good point about the force power itself :).
