Just in case anyone gets hyped up about this: there's nothing story-based about it outside of the name of the mission. There's no actual "investigating" of Kett presence; it's just another horde mode mission. I understand them hyping up the new weapon and class, but unless they intend to keep the new stage around after the "event", it's a total waste of an event.
Wait, so you pay $10 to get $10 coupons (yes for more than 1 game, but it's still a paltry amount given their price tags) for certain games, instead of the coupons being a bonus from buying a game unlike the last time they did the promo, AND it doesn't count towards special/deluxe editions of the game? I don't have anything against Gamestop normally unlike some people with their horror stories, but this is pretty stupid.
@Fartman7998: I agree. That, and he's single-handedly - at least in terms of politically starting it - the reason why the Empire exists thanks to his nomination of Palpatine :P
The only way to "broaden the appeal" to gamers who have stopped playing is to keep what was implied from pre-release - such as a deep story and detailed IN-GAME lore - as well as have more consistent and fulfilling updates instead of months without new content (I know that would mean smaller levels of content per update, but as long as they feel worth doing, and each update varies between pvp and pve to keep both sides involved, that's all that matters). That, and not pissing off customers by giving extremely meager DLC for the season pass then charging full price for an expansion. They somewhat learned the latter lesson by making Rise of Iron include the previous expansion for a cheaper price for people who have the base game, but let's see if they'll keep that up with Destiny 2.
@theKSMM: They used this exact type of promise when they released the DS, promising to not discontinue the game boy and having the DS as a "third pillar". It took them maybe two months after release to break that promise.
