Now for my Reviews, Pt. I

I will now review the first 5 of my previous list of movies (the first being in order I watched them, not in order listed), plus a movie not listed, 'Changeling'.

(of 4)

-Clerks.  ---***1/2

I have alot of love for this Generation X comedy. Fitting perfectly into the'90s, this comedy won't appeal to the MySpace generation, but why would you want it to. Very funny , and witty without being nauseating (like mostindie films such as the overrated yet still good 'Juno'). It's crud, rude, offensive, and just plain fun. Definately worth a watch. Note: Don't dismiss it for it's interesting R rating (R: for Extensive use of extremely explicit sex related dialogue - no lie, straight from the box), because there is more to it htan crude humor. There is substance to what they say.

-Se7en  ---***1/2

This movie surprised me. I expected it to be more 'Saw' like, but was pleasently surprised by an intense, disturbing, and engaging thriller that grips you tighter than any would even attempt today, with the VERY few exceptions. Yes, it's graphic, but there is only 2 scenes of actually violence. Tons of suspense, and a couple of stomache churning scenes.

-Donnie Darko  ---***

This cult classic is jsut that: a cult classic. It's weird as hell, but definately interesting. Some interesting plot points ahead, and a 6-ft. tall Demonic bunny rabbit, make this worth seeing, even if you don't understand it. No one else does.

-No Country for Old Men  ---****

Another intense, and artistically put together film, very diserving of Best Picture (it's primary opponent, There Will Be Blood, is also a great film, though not for all audiences). Though graphically violent, a lack of any music whatsoever (except for one part, I believe) gives the film a very fresh, yet dry feeling. It's great.

-Forgetting Srah Marshal [UR]  ---***

Very funny film from the Apatow gang keeps you laughing throughout, while still making it (sort of) believable. Nothing much to be said except it's a good movie.

-Changeling  ---***1/2

Another great, emotional film out in theatres now is also intense (Jeez, too many thriller like films!) and willl have you following the film to the point, even if you don't know what will be solved and or how long it will go (yes, it is a bit long). Still, highly recomended.

How the mighty have fallen...

Halo 3 is now offically off my last 5 games played.

In case you're wondering, that's the five games on your gamercard when seen online.

In other news, I rented far Cry 2, and it's great. The GAMEPLAY is like GTA: Africa meets COD4.

Sweet, huh? I'm lovin' it so far.

Those movies, by the way, exactly five have been seen, and one not listed (Changeling, which was very good).

I'll review those five soon, along with the others.

Plus, Too many games to count just came out but I am out of spendin' money temperarely, but that'll be ok later.

Stats later...

WtF!!?!

Seriously. No Joke.

Donnie Darko 2?! Titled S. Darko ?

Wow, how fk'd up. I don't think it will work, personally, for multiple reasons (they will waite until later), but I would love to discuss this, so do not hesitate to comment.

(I know I'm brief, but I will discuss with you people later).

Movies . . . oh yea....

Yes! I just finished Fable II, and a review will be up in sooner or later. But first, movies I will be watching for review. Some I own, some I'm borrowing, and some (by which I mean like one) I have already reviewed, but wish to re-watch for re-evaluation. Yes, the movies are as follow:

-Clerks.

-Se7en

-Forgetting Sarah Marshall [Unrated]

-Apocolypse Now!

-Apocolypse Now: Redux

-No Country for Old Men

-Chinatown

-Dog Day Afternoon

-The Blues Brothers

-Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

-Fargo

-Donnie Darko

Mixed bag, eh? I've already watched some, but will review all at the same time, so see ya then.

Fable II Continues to Impress

Yes the title says it all.

The Game is emmersive (though the main storylineis becoming weaker), and achievements are easy (though not necassarily fast to get, unless you play 8 hrs strait).

So Far: 18/50

Let's go for it.

Stats later.

PS: Happy Birthday Shortbus215!

The Fable Continues

I have just got Fable II (I haven't been conected to LIVE for awhile, so you won't see that yet, or my gamerscore), and it is great. I have very minorproblems with it so far, but it's pretty neat-o. It's much bigger, and the achievements (so far) are great and easy. I already have 6/50 in the tutorial (technically, I'm out and an adult now, but I have some things to do before I get complete freedom).

I will review it after I get farther (possibely complete) the game. So friggin' cool. . .

stats later, when I plug up to LIVE.

Rock Band 2 Review

My review to Rock band 2 is finally up (a month after announcing I would write one).

Check it out.

What an Excelent Day for an Exorcism

Just tonight, I, for the first time, watched John Carpenter's 'The Thing', and the director's cut of 'The Exorcist'. Hell yes! (no pun intended).

My thoughts? The Thing is a cool, freaky movie that will have those who loved the first 'Alien' movie, and those who thought the style possibly 'neat', but the movie boring, loving this one. Confused? It's a lot like Alien in it's style (not so dry, though - PS: I love Alien).

The Exorcist (Director's Cut), I thought was good (disturbing as hell, especially after the movie, more than during), but a bit long, with the ending (which I hear now is the added ending) was not needed and slowed down the whole thing, the spider walk came in too early (it's the first 'possesed' scene, technically, but it comes 45 minutes before the rest of them), and the cop came in too much and for too long. Otherwise, it's a classic.

The Thing: ***/4

The Exorcist: ***1/2 /4

Braid the Castle Crashers

2 new games I bout off of Xbox LIVE Arcade: Braid (just finished, it's great, confusing, and I only need one more achievement), and Castle Crashers (not beaten this one yet, but soon. Very soon)

They're both recomended . . . highly.

The Dude Abides

EYs, I am a Lebowski fan.

What am I talking about? The Big Lebowski, the great, cult comedy form the amazing Coen Brothers.

Now, this isn't like an Oscar worthy film, but it's a great one. Why am I talking aobut a movie that came out in 1998? Because, if you did your math before reading this sentence, you should find that it's been ten years since the film was released, and I have recently picked up the 2-disc DVD, and it is wonderful.

With it, I also grabbed me a copy of Apocalypse Now: Complete Dossier which comes with the original cut (at like 3 1/2 hrs.), and the directors cut titled Apocalypse Now Redux (at about 4 1/2 hrs., making it a true uncut counterpart, not the 1 sec. longer 'Unrated' cuts floating everywhere).

In Case you didn't know, I'm a strong movie buff, and movies are my passion, video gmaes my prime entertainment right after movies (hence why I'm here). So, I will give the ratings (of 4 stars) to each at the bottom of this post.

Anyhoo, it's the 7th, so go get on Halo 3 and get you 7 experience for the achievement! (as I am doing right now....or hav emy brother doing as I type this).

I'm tired and done typing for now.

The Big Lebowski: ***1/2

Apocalypse Now: ****

Apocalypse Now: Redux: NOT YET RATED or SEEN
