I would say there are several reasons for this to be true:

-Wii turned out to be innovative & to make useless almost all of the bashing arguments most anti-gamers had (i.e. lack of exercise, high violence, initially too expensive...).

-Both in Europe & Japan (the other 2 major videogame markets), U.S. electronics are less sucessful, with videogames being one of the most affected kinds [of electronics].

-The Xbox 360 released first in the USA, & we know that the system had an exaggerated (which is still true) failure rate (around 66% at first). And for Microsoft, any replacement console given away as replacement for damaged & really-hard-to-fix Xbox 360s is considered as a sold unit. So those replacement consoles really inflate the statistics.

-As most countries whose people have enough decency to value their identitiy, they will sponsor native products over foreign ones.

That's really impresive, although we must consider the giant difference among Wii consoles already sold (about 48 million) when compared to PS3s sold (about 22 million). Unless the long-living console plan works well for the PS3, there will be more Wii Fits sold than PS3s.

I think the problem is that -by the end of the 5th generation- gaming sharply diverted away from an art form into a mass media, revenue generating wide-appeal industry. That actually hurts the quality of the products, & that's way more significant when knowing that the capacities of modern videogame hardware & physical media would allow for really fantastic creations (if they were aimed at being at least as great as the gaming past).

If it weren't for the PS3 having a 512 RAM memory (split between 256 main & 256 graphics), the PS3 is ALL you need. If it had a 4GB unified RAM, all you need to do is to install Windows (yes, I can do that), get some PC USB peripherials & install the games in an external hard drive.

But, since I have to choose among your options, I'd go for PS3 + PC (due to the aforementioned reasons on this thread).

This is just so weird! Will it have the option for normal drinkable water to come out if -in some ocassion- I'm not interested on the flavored liquid (like when I'm REALLLLY thirsty)?

So far, many of the hardcore, competitive fighting gamers that I know reject the Smash series (especially due to BRAWL) as a fighting game. Their main argument is that it has the defining elements of party videogames. For what I know, the main gameplay is focused on fighting, so that should be enough to classify it as such. You can even check the promotion, the reviews, & they classify the Smash series as one of fighting videogames.

Any questions, comments or answers about the topic?

My mom would be a housekeeper & my dad is a mechanical engineer, supervising in a thermoelectric power plant.

About my future income, if we make the adjustment for inflation, I'm expecting to earn about what my dad earns.

This is about the same as the issue of the DSi being or not being the DS' true sucessor. Both have significant improvements when compared to their predecessors, yet they are still too similar for most people to consider as different systems.

I would also point out that -in the case of Nintendo handheld videogame systems- such systems don't have really dramatic changes among models (with the GBA to DS transition being the most dramatic so far).

It takes time to play through a game man

Fredrick2003x

IGN has a lot more manpower than GameSpot has.LordAndrew

Those two reasons, plus that Gamespot only reviews games on their final version or equivalents. Those don't come up until there's few time left before the release of the game, they need a good amount of time to review (like Fredrick said) the game properly. Also, Gamespot doesn't has as much as capital (both human & finnancial) as IGN to do their job.
