I'm experiencing the same problem. Are you using a monitor by any chance or just a regular HDTV? I'm using a 25" ASUS monitor, that's why I'm wondering, maybe it has something to do with that?

Also, I hear that installing the play disc onto a USB drive helps with pop ins, load times, less noisy disc, etc but as you said, I'm thinking the issue is with our system.

^This

My only main concern with this game is technical issues, such as glitches, framerate, bugs, lag, etc. So far from what I've seen from the recent trailers, I've definitely noticed improvements. I'm glad they're not spoling it too much but I would like to see more gameplay footage just to get an idea of how smooth the gameplay will be. Other then that though, this is literally a dream game that is coming true for me.

It will probably get a 100 on metacritic because reviewers only review hype nowadays but I hope someone gives it a really low score just to piss off all these annoying fanboys that already think it's the greatest game ever made.XxR3m1xInHDn3D
It most likely WILL be the greatest game ever made and don't label me as a fanboy, I don't even play video games anymore. This will probably be my last video game I'll ever play until I stop playing them..

I think my first death will either be during a mission or getting killed by law enforcement. I hope there will be an invincibility cheat though.

From what I've seen so far (vastly improved graphics, incredibly huge open world, tons of extra activities, car/gun/player customization, high production value all around) I would be surprised if it receives less than a 9.5. The only reason I can see this game being marked down for is if the gunplay isn't improved (I'm hoping that it feels less like GTA4 and more like Max Payne3)a55a55inx
Yeah I see what you're saying, it'll most certainly get at *least* a 9.5 if not a 10, but I still see it getting a perfect score. The combat system seems very similar to one they had in red dead redemption, with the weapon wheel, cover system and aiming. Whether GS sees this as a good or bad thing is up to them I guess. Overall though, they've put so much effort into this game and I really think it deserves a 10. (Then again I haven't played it yet but it looks very promising).

I don't think Gamespot will make that mistake again, but they gave IV a 10 and that was a total joke; I'm sure some website will give it a 10. Reviewers love to fall in love with hype.

GTA V looks like so much more of the same, and that's not really a big deal. A score of 10 should be reserved for actually great games

How was GTA 4 a joke?

It's insulting to everyones intelligence that you would ask that. GTA4 was tedious, WAAAAY too long, and like 70% or more of the story missions had absolutely ZERO to do with the story whatsoever, there was just so much useless filler, and my god, you don't even know what the hell is going on in the story until the games halfway mark, by which time you don't even give a shit about Niko's little revenge desire because you don't even have any prior experience with the people he is trying to get revenge on, and the only time you even see one of them is like a 30 second cutscene and by that time you have already forgotten about the guy Niko is after anyway. Thats only half the damn problem. Besides the very inconsistent story, you had absolutely dreadful gameplay, with some of the worst aiming systems ever made. Auto-aim was bullshit, and free-aim was also bullshit. The side missions were exactly identical to the story missions, and thats even if you can FIND them. Friends were annoying. Girlfriends were useless. The mission design was absolute garbage. Literally half the story missions are these unnecessary motorcycle chases that are completely awful in every way. The mission where Niko is going after Faustin in the Helicopter is easily the most poorly designed game sets that I have ever seen. I could go on and on and on about this. The whole game is trash. It's a wonder how RDR came out so good after the sick, disease ridden pile of steaming cowshit that was GTA4.

I think you're way over exaggerating and why are you so critical of the story mode? I don't know about you but I paid very little attention to the story/missions in GTA 4 because I was too busy messing around in the open world. I'm not saying the story mode isn't a big part of the game (single player anyway) but I do know that there's a lot of people who play GTA games who don't even care about the story. The gameplay was dreadful? Compared to what? If anything, they've vastly improved the gameplay mechanics from GTA san andreas. I'm not defending GTA 4 for arguments sake, I actually thought it was a great game (at the time) and had a lot of fun with it.

It's just I can't think of any reasons why they would rate it any lower then a 10, it just seems like the perfect open world game. Then again, this game is really over-hyped, so it might not meet their high expectations, but other then that I can't think of anything else. Let's say it does get a solid 9, what would be the main reason for it only getting a 9? If I had to guess, it would probably have something to do with lag or bugs/glitches (one or the other). Bugs has always been an issue with any open-world game, so that's to be expected (Unless of course there's a signifcant amount of glitches in the game to the point where it ruins the experience, but I highly doubt that's gonna happen). The other issue the game might have is game lag, which is actually something that I'm worried about. After watching all the trailers and gameplay vids, you have to ask yourself, how is my system going to handle all this? It almost seems too good to be true but remember guys, this is RockStar. The past two GTA games have all been very sucessful and let's not forget red dead redemption.

GTA san andreas: 9.6

GTA IV: 10

Red Dead redemption: 9.5

GTA V: ??

That's consistenty. (I know I left out L.A Noire, Max payne and others but that's like comparing apples to oranges)
