The mod should reveal that the machine at the beginning (that causes the whole mess), is actually glaDOS.

Because all of Half-Life 1 was just a test... for science!

@obsequies Well, Lambda Core is right by the end of the game, so you're not only getting the first part, you're getting everything except the last part (which you really don't need anyway). I wouldn't mind them re-writing the end of Half-life for fun's sake, let's hope they actually do that and the announcement of it being up to Lambda Core is part of the trick.

@Stolet I agree, I was pissed when someone I trusted injected me with a deadily virus that'll only activate in a few years time. And when I finally got over that, I became pissed again when I woke up one day and looked 60 years old in the mirror, because turns out, I was a bloody clone! Love games like this though that I can relate to

@WCK619 Good point. While I enjoy the large game series episodes. I did love the ones that had generalised topics such as "Zombies" or "Football", or even company episodes like the "iD" one.

@Tixylixx I agree with you generally. My only suggestion is that, while still cheesy, MGS3 is the least cheesiest of the stories and the best one as well. It's also possible to enjoy it as a self-contained story, so do recommend giving that one a chance at least.

@RedLegZeff Because the Mortal Kombat voiceover pronounces it as 'Ray'den. They may be the same name by spelling and definition (Which was interesting btw, thanks!), but one was designed by Japanese and the others by Americans, so the pronounciation of each is based on their personal languages. It's not Dan to blame, he was correct. If anything, you can blame Midway for using Japanese for inspiration and then having it pronounced wrong in the game. But really, Both are fictional characters and can be pronounced however the writer wants it to be.

@lambofgod008 Judging by how they improved the PC versions of Episodes from Liberty City, I'm confident that they learnt from their mistake :) I'll be crossing my fingers with you though

@BlackSquare Well, it was one of the best additions to San Andreas and is already proven to be popular, so not a new idea, but rather revisiting one that was extremely successful and popular among gamers.

Therefore not the correct use of the term "Jumped the shark" :)

@penpusher Yes, you are right! It's a sequel to War For Cybertron (so if you're story-focused, play that first). It's an extremely simple action game, but that makes it relaxing to just play through the story. The banter between the 'bots (good and bad) is very similar to the show.

I love how the article says they're "Assassins disguised as gun-wielding nuns".

A gun-wielding nun is a pretty bad disguise. I'm sure they were actually gun-wielding assassins disguised as just nuns ;)
