there is a thread about the best games on the ps2 and a ton of people listed FFX. imo it is one of the worst FF games ever, granted i havent played X-2, and have just started XII (and hate the battle system). But FFX is in no way the best game for the PS2. i mostly play rpgs, and i beat FFX twice. it was a decent game, but not a good FF. Waka got on my nerves so bad and that ball he threw around was the most retarded weapon i can recall. the game was to linear for a FF the story wasnt that great compared to others. actually i dont think they have produced a good FF since VIII. IX,X,X-2 (from what i hear), and XII (the little i have played) are all weak games compared to the previous FF's. so why is FFX given so much respect to be called the greatest game on the ps2 by so many. i think square enix could crap on a plate and call it final fantasy and people would say it was the greatest thing ever. i enjoy final fantasy as much as the next guy, but to say X is the best game on the ps2, or that it ranks high in the FF series is just absurd.

[QUOTE="Dunbake"]i have a fondness for atlus. they seem to make a lot of games that stray from the norm, and are mostly quality.Andrn

Agreed, but some of there games are EXTREMELY hard to find.

i've noticed that to. do they just not produce a lot of copies or something. are they not popular? i dont know much about them other than they almost always make solid games, atleast the ones i have played.

[QUOTE="blazinpuertoroc"][QUOTE="Panzer_Zwei"]If you like Arcade gaming. It's simply the best system ever at it.Panzer_Zwei

but i hear its best games are imports, is that true? Also is the console region free if so?

Yes, the mayority of it's library are Japanese games.

Fortuntately, it is very easy to play import games. All it takes it's a cheap ST-Key cartridge or a 4-in-1 (Memory Back-Up/ST-Key/4MB/Action Replay) catridge.

There are *a lot* of great games in English though. Also pretty much all Arcade games don't really have any language barrier or have an English language option.

do any of the cartridges work or does it have to be a specific one, and do you have to do anything special or will it just automatically play imports with the cartridge in? i have only had my saturn a couple months and didnt know you could play imports that easily on it.

i bought one a couple months ago, it came with knights into dreams, and most of the fighting games on the system. and i have picked up blazing heroes, dark savior, and albert odyssey fairly reasonable, and i am happy with my purchase. however you better be prepared to fork out some cash for games panzer dragoon saga has been going for around $120 and shining force III has been going for $80-100. magic knight rayearth has been going for about $60, which is why i dont own any of those games yet. albert odyssey has been going for $40-50, but i got it for $25. so i guess depending on what type of games your into and how much your willing to spend on games will determine if this is a good buy for you.

Thanks for the input guys. i know most of the final fantasy's dont really tie together thay have unique stories and different characters, so i didnt see how chrono trigger could tie in with the series.

best - i think the dreamcasts was the most functional, and i like how the memory card played a bigger role than just saving files. i dont like how the cord is on the wrong end of the controller though. i also like the gamecube controller.

worst - atari joystick
