As opposed to a vga connection with a dvi adapter on the end of it?
Im trying to figure out this monitor issue im having still, where on some screens it looks like horizontal, wavey, fluttering or static interference, or electronic interference...as if some connection just isnt right. And im wondering if using those adapters can cause certain minor issues like that.
Im thinking a straight hdmi or dvi connection may fix it, what do some of you think? The things i see are only visible on some screens, but its just annoying...a rolling fluttering kind of puling lines going horizontally.

[QUOTE="paraskhos_basic"]he does not have an sli edge has a gtx 295 as he told in this topicopamandoYou do realize that the GTX295 is a dual "sandwiched" card, right? And IMO, worse than regular SLI. I was just saying I found it funny that someone who thought SLI was silly, would own what is basically SLI on a single card. Your thinking too hard about it...its a brand new build, im not gonna go out and buy something crappy for it. Its the best single card out there regardless of its guts. But my whole point is that the concept of numerous cards overall is stupid, doesnt mean i wont buy a card that is 2 cards slapped together being thats where the tech is heading....it is what it is, but i find 2 and 3 cards together just a stupid concept, thats all.
he does not have an sli edge has a gtx 295 as he told in this topicparaskhos_basicI was just saying that to me, the 295 is just killer....but when people talk about buying 2 and 3 video cards for better performance, i just figure why bother...just own one that is seriously powerful.
I personally think 2 and 3 vid cards is just silly, the concept that is....its like either a card can run something or it cant, just make a powerful card and charge for it instead of slapping together a video card sandwich.
I mean when does that end ya know, will we see mother boards with 15 slots and then its like "run 15 video cards, woo!".
I just personally think like i said running multiple cards is weird for the most part, i prefer just strong, powerful single cards that can get the job done.
edge at wat resolution u play?paraskhos_basicCurrently im playing 1680x1050 on a 22" Acer. I max every game pretty much and i simply dont know how things could look or run anybetter ya know, kind of like fast and smooth is fast and smooth and it either is or isnt, and the card is just awesome. Im also running an i7, gigabyte extreme mobo and 6gb of 1600. But i do plan to upgrade my monitor to at least a 1900x1200 or maybe, if the price is right, higher...but im gunning for a 1900x1200 monitor next here.
My gtx 295 is pretty awesome, blazing fast, doesnt overheat really at all and the fans...barely hear em when im gaming, music, sounds etc...so nothin but love from me and my 295 :)
Have you tried toggling Vsync on and off to see if it would help? I know that with Vsync on, it would kill your framerate if your system's strong enough to render faster. But it's the only fool-proof way to get rid of tearing, short of investing in a better monitor.codezer0Ill try it with vsync off...and if its a new monitor needed thats no biggie, im just trying to figure out if the monitor just isnt up to par with the machine i got. Its got a funky 1650x1050 res too which i dont know, just wasnt my preferred choice but i didnt think id build such amonster computer when i bought it...so i think im gonna upgrade the monitor soon anyways. But ill give it a try without vsync.
