What are some classes you guys like?
Also, with a ranger...is it viable to pull with your bow and then switch over to melee? But is there a way to hotkey different attack modes?

Wow thanks for the info guys, helps alot! Please any more you can offer do so :)
Before i get too deep into the game, how about classes...are Pallies a fun and rewarding class to play? Or what about a caster class or ranger? Also...how well do classes mix, or is it best to roll and go with a pure class?
Ok, so im playing and loving the game immensely...but im just starting to get my a ss kicked, nykesha is just dead instantly...and it seems my dudes just get rolled, im a bit new to the neverwinter scene so im not so used to the pure D&D style overall.
Im doing that bandits quest, and i got the dwarf, nykesha and myself...and my main char is a paladin but i dont understand the spellcasting in this game to heal during combat, i mean i understand the turn based factor as to thats my favorite style of rpg gaming, but spells i dont quite get...can i buff my team? I see this list of spells but i cant do anything with them in my spell book. I cast a heal once for like 20 hps and then it seems its done, what am i missing here?
Also, is it worth while to buy store bought weapons and armors?
And why does my paladin get like 2 points to distribute yet the thief char gets like 13 or something, im not getting that quite yet.
Any help would be great.
Micro-stuttering? Immature drivers?X360PS3AMD05Well i got the newest certified drivers yesterday and isntalled them, and im just not 100% sure if what i get is micro stuttering. I been trying to verify it by lookin for online examples. It sounds right, but when i think micro stuttering i think constant whereas for me in some of these games im only getting like a hiccup...every 5-10 seconds 'only' while roaming the map, so jsut while the screen is scrolling it kind of hiccups...which looks like lag actually, but its super quick...its not prolonged or anything to mess up the game or gameplay, but enough to make you think something is up just because its there. But 99% of the games run smooth as silk...its just when running im catching hints of stuttering which is the only way to describe it really.
[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]This is why i say i would never own a sandwhich card........nightz2k
I'm thinking the same.
The heat's gotta be an issue. If it's not, then just ingnore my ignorance. :twisted:
I dont think its the heat, for these older games and less power needing games, the card stays perfectly cool pretty much. This is why i say i would never own a sandwhich card........X360PS3AMD05That s houldnt have much to do with it being the power is there, and setting it to one core should still run these less resource needing games with no problems....thats where im viewing it from.
Firstly...im not one to worry about benchmarks or OCing or anything, but im just curious though overall being i just built this new system. So i got the trial version of 3D vantage and ran it...are these scores decent or are they crap? CPU is 39,396 and GPU is 17,633. Now thats all just stock.
Also...can someone give me the final verification on how dual gpus may have issues with certain games in terms of stuttering when doing something with the mirror images or what not. I just am noticing how in my rpgs, i just seem to not be able to escape occasional laggy/chappy/stuttery kind of thing that hits my games. Its mainly when scrolling through a field or moving my characters....neverwinter nights 2, titan quest....and now in drakensang that i just tried.
Now im able ot obscure it a bit, but man i got to lower settings like crazy....is this just a case of too much power for games not needing that much? Like if i get a brand new hot of fthe shelf FPSer, will i then see my 295 shine?
Maybe for the games i play the 295 just wasnt the perfect choice being im more of an rpg guy, but i cant deny its giving me solid frames, its just like i said this occasional blip while running across the screen kinda...like 7 to 8 seconds of pure flow, thena quick jerky fast clipping sort of deal...and then its perfectly smooth again. Everything else is smooth as silk in these games, its just running and the screen scrolling that i notice it.
Is it monitor input lag perhaps?
Ive got the new nvidia drivers from like yesterday, not the 185s though...so i dunno, i just want to understand this new technology and people on many boards talk so vague expecting everyone to just understand it, and its driving me nuts.
