Why do they think they are competing with the PS4 and Xbox One? The Wii U's System specifications are more along the lines of current-gen tech than next-gen. They don't get that people are excited for these new systems. The Wii U had it's moment already.
I am not at all confident in the Wii U's recovery. I think Nintendo's home console will sell less than Sony and Microsoft's new consoles this holiday season which will, in turn, hurt the 3rd party publisher's confidence in the machine further and Nintendo will lose more support thusly.
A paper weight may as well be one of the "pillars of the Xbox One". For most adopters of the system, that is exactly what it will be. The Kinect is no different to the Xbox One than it was to the Xbox 360, now that they reversed their stance on it's importance.
@Monsterkillah It is certainly a matter of taste. Neither Microsoft nor Sony have any AAA launch games that I'm overly excited about (except probably infamous, but it's not at launch). However, Sony showed a ton of indies that look completely amazing. And those little games are what sold me on the system. No and's, if's, or but's about it. I am a huge fan of those kinds of experiences.
I'm not all that impressed with the PS4's launch lineup. Quite frankly, other than inFamous, I'm looking forward to more of their indie titles than AAA titles. I will undoubtedly get a PS4, but probably not at launch.
