Finally caught back up

I finally got to the same part in the storyline I was at on the 360 in the PS3 version of GTA IV. I'm letting my PS3 cool down on the cross media bar for a bit before shutting 'er off. I don't need another console meltdown at the same point. If all goes well, I should be hitting the end of the game tonight (after I get some shut-eye that is). Yay.

PS3 *puke*

I'm sorry, but I'm really fed up with this crap. I can almost get past the constant "it's coming soon!" string along hype for everything over the past couple of years, but now it's gone into affecting my gameplay.

The latest PS3 firmware update screwed up my PS3's network NAT type (which has been fine since december 06) and now I can't get connected to any online games. I've tried EVERYTHING, opened a lot of ports according to guides, tried setting it to DMZ host, everything short of plugging it directly into my modem (which I cannot do), and nothing has helped. I'm stuck on Type 3, and can't play with friends or connect to any games. Lovely.

Coupled with large installs for every game, and the aformentioned waiting games of "oh we're going to have in game XMB soon!" and "Home is coming soon!" and "We'll stop being idiots soon!", I'm just really disgusted right now.

Fmeh.

Whoops, too late..

I couldn't resist. Waiting sucks, and I'm really impatient. Plus, GTA IV is my favorite game of all time, remember. :)

Things that bit the dust to the GameStop shelves:

GameCube System w/ memory card 59
Metroid Prime (GC)
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology (PS2)
Killer 7 (PS2)
Gradius V (PS2)
MotorStorm (PS3)
Ridge Racer 7 (PS3)

Not too harsh of a loss, IMO.
That GameCube I bought from GameStop a while back and it has disc read errors anyway (they never tested it though).

Anyway, time to go get back into Liberty City! SEE YA!

New Record

Today, I achieved a brand new record for the amount of time I played a single game in one day. Can you guess which game it was? :P

I just played GTA4 for 14 1/2 hours...

Hmm.. heh...

So yeah...

GTA4 is my new favorite game of all time.

Xbox 360 is also my new favorite system of all time.

I am being serious, too. :D

So, The Orange Box on consoles is basically a paper weight.

I recieved the game in the mail for Xbox 360 from GameFly yesterday, and I've been a little excited to finally give Team Fortress 2 a try.

Heh.

Well, you'd be lucky to even FIND a server to play on. Often times when I search for a match (both player and ranked), I'm confronted with a "no matches found" prompt. Then after doing this for a while, I'll find a whopping ONE server to play on, which houses like every single player online for the game I guess. Sometimes, I even find TWO at once to choose from. I know, shocking.

What happened though? I know it's been a while, and there are a lot of people playing COD4, Halo 3, and the likes... but didn't The Orange Box sell really well? Then why is there only like maybe 20 total people that want to play TF2 anymore? There's quite a large PC community too. It's just odd. I could only imagine the PS3 version being a ghost town.

Outside of those facts though, the package is really great, and I'll give my quick run down:

HL2: Seems the PC port is intact, which was a fantastic game.
Ep1 & 2: I checked Ep 2 out briefly just to see if there was any boost in graphics, but it seemed relatively the same from what I saw. Didn't beat HL2 though so I didn't want to go too far in the episodes yet.
Portal: Meh, it's just boring to me. (YES I DO GET IT, GAWD)
TF2: Awesome what I played of it... wish there were more servers up though. I haven't even played half of the maps yet.

I'll probably just keep the game until my GameFly is up on the 5th.

Later.
