I don't think we need an entirely new engine right now. I think we do need Half Life 3 though. After Half Life 3, I say have at it with making a new engine. But that's just my opinion. I think they are probably already working on their next engine.

So....are you saying that you want Half Life 3 to be based on Source Engine? Screw that man. Half Life 2 was last gen. It'd be funny for a next gen game to be using a 2 gen old engine.

The Source engine was made to be modified. So yes, I want Half Life 3 this generation on a modified Source engine. That just personaly opinion on this topic. There is no reason to put so much time & money into an engine unless you use every single ounch of it which I don't think Vavle has just yet. There is still moret hey can get out of it. Save a new engine for next generation.

Another thing I think & this doesn't go just for Valve but for all game companies, I personally would like them to use the engine that took a long time to make for this generation for most if not all of this generation. Hopefully that way we will get more good games from them & hopefully Valve would get more bang for their bucks they put into that engine. Modifiying it is something that should be done from game to game, but I don't think they need to make an entirely new engine for every other game.

While i'm agree that Sony is getting way too excited with their Remakes, i have to admit that if they make a Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 port to the PS3 i would probably cry like a baby out of excitement.

madsnakehhh

I hope so. That would be awesome. The first one was great. I was upset when I heard I wouldn't be able to play 2 & 3 because of them being only on the PSP.

[QUOTE="starjet905"]PSP 2k/3k had a TV out, so why not Vita?starjet905

From what I understand it doesn't have the capability that the PSP had to play games that way.

Why wouldn't it? At least games that don't utilize the top touch screen should work. There's no reason why they couldn't implement it. Such a shame if they don't. Do you have any link to somewhere that says the PSVita won't have TV out support?

I don't have a link but it's been what I've been looking for since the when it first was called NGP & if I remember from what I've read, there is no TV out support. If I'm wrong I'll gladly eat my hat. Also it could use the television & the screen on the controller like the Wii U. So I think if they wanted to you could play games with touch support on television by using the screen on the PSVita to do the action you want it to on your television.

That would be great if it is. I love Platinum Games. Vainquish, Bayonetta are amazing. I never got to play MadWorld & their DS game though. I'm looking forward to Anarchy Reigns. I hope this is a sequel.

T I only wish I could somehow play these sweet PSVita games on my 55inch widescreen since I'll always be playing it at home, most likely in front of my big screen anyway.

From what I understand it doesn't have the capability that the PSP had to play games that way. It would be weird to see Sony "copy" Nintendo's idea before the Wii U even gets to market. Because if they just change the PSVita a little bit, it could be used very similiarly to a Wii U controller.

Because the PSP is incredibly successful in Japan and Japanese third parties found plenty of sales as well.

Edit: Also, the PSP was pretty successful in EU as well. It could have been even more successful in EU and NA but Sony messed things up. Piracy and controls stopped the PSP from being what it should have been.

There was a bit more to my post that elaborated. It may have been successful, but I would just think it would be easier for Sony to push more PS3's if these games were made for the PS3 instead. I can't wait for the PSVita, I just wish I could play it on my 55inch HD screen.

So do you think the Bioshocks, the CODs, the big games that happen to get Vita versions, will you buy them for your PS3 or Vita? I would love a Vita, but I just want to wait on some more unique IPs like Loco Roco, Patapon, etc.

I will only buy exclusives for my Vita. I don't see any other reason in owning one. The main reason why I don't see the need for Vita is because it looks to me as if it is competing with home consoles & handhelds by the kind of games they are coming out with, the only difference is they are mobile. I think the Vita would be much more appealing if they tweaked it to allow us to use it as a sort of handheld & a PS3 controller similiar to what the Wii U controller does, along with allowing gamers to play Wii U games on their televisions.

It was necessary to the series as a whole. It wasn't in the first game, they added it to the second game to see how the fans & they liked it. You got to remember that they aren't making Resistance 2, they are making Resistance 3 which probably needed this mode to go away & be replaced by a different coop mode that makes sense & feels right for this game.

[QUOTE="Sword-Demon"]because if all the vita games went to the ps3, the vita wouldn't have any games? :? seems kinda obvious to me..minh800

Very obvious, but my point was why go make another handheld at all after the PSP

Because the PSP is incredibly successful in Japan and Japanese third parties found plenty of sales as well.
