how would u know if u have it and how would u tell the difference between having the chip and the software emulation.orphansoup
Don't worry about it. I have a European PS3 and its backwards compatibility is great. I can play all my PS1 and PS2 games, and they even work better than they do on PS2, 'cause the emulation process is taking advantage of the powerful PS3 hardware. Once the American PS3s lose their Emotion Engine chip, PS3 emulated backwards compatibility will be 100% or near 100% anyway, since it's being improved for every update.
Okay people who are continouly whining about swapping disc need to get out more. I agree that DVD9s will have it's limits in the near future and Blu Ray will allow for more freedom but you know what disc swapping isn't hard people, just look after your disc, be organized and exercise.solidte
I'm lazy, so sue me.
I do not like getting up in the middle of the game and swap discs. It's the same for movies. Imagine a movie being on 2 discs (first edition of Goodfellas was double sided, that sucked, I sold it immediately).
The day the PS3 offers a game that has two discs, these boards will go up in flames. Oh what a wonderful day that will be.hotdaisy18
Well, imagine how many DVD discs that would be if the game was on the 360.
is that all blue ray is? extra data on one disk so the 360 answer is just use more disks and we get the same quality as the blu ray?jukieuk
Don't know about you, but I prefer my games on 1 disc only. But hey, if you feel comfortable playing Metal Gear Solid on 20 discs, whatever floats your boat.
[QUOTE="Blitz1130"]Nope, not till that software drops in oct, that when I'm buying itnimuk
good idea, but by then the machine won't have the emotion engine...this is big for me cause i have many ps1-2 games.
hopefully fireware updates don't bypass the EE.
