simply said that they might have gotten some influence from MGS4 concerning the whole emotional addition to the story. Considering MGS4 set a pretty high bar for story telling. I just think that the whole Maria and Dom bits were forced and added simply because epic needed to make changes to story, so they thought the next best thing is romance, shame its only done right by a few developers...Epic isn't one of them.

whats that got to do with it? he basically said the game was like perfect...its obvious some pressure was involved or some excuse anyways. GS review scares are weird anyways. I'm sure he looked at it and said *wow can't keep using the 8.5 and 9.5....i'll give it a 9" lol

9.0 seems fair tho, really does..after reading a few reviews, EPIC again couldn't deliver a proper and detailed story, its still shallow and corny as ever, UK IGN's review states it best. What is it with epic and cheesy dialog? Must be Cliffy's enormous ego, that he can't help and shine it to his games.

Seriously, if it wasn't for the insanly fun gameplay, gears would be a flop bad. Whats even worse it that they seems desperate for a good story, so they probably looked a MGS4 and went the whole "emotional route' lol. Just stupid for the game Gears is. They need to find better talent for story telling, because i'm sure Gears has so much potential in that factor, considering the overall setting and style of the game.

anyways, can't wait to play it...gears 2 is about online anyways.
