[QUOTE="Salt_The_Fries"]How browsing through truck engine (the inventory system), not being able to walk while you shoot or lack of strafing can be fun? Especially in game that it is all about action.ArisShadows
That what makes me sad, Resident Evil wasn't about action once upon a time.
lol how is RE4 all about action? RE4 has different enemies, faster smarter ones, image RE1's gameplay with Genado's, infected villages as your enemies. RE1's gameplay makes sense for Zombies, since they're slow and pathetic.
how many times are they gonna add zombies? knowing there weak abilities to fight, its why RE games overall got stale and weak. atleast in silent hill it was more about melee's it got harder, RE1 you just shoot them.
If they couldnt do Resident Evil like it use to be, they could have simply stop it, how do from zombies to parasites and villagers. The essense of survive is not as much as there, rationing your items and ammo is not needed too greatly. The shock factor if completely gone, no more nerviously entering down a hallway. Maybe some suspence. Where's the puzzles? If they couldn't keep the general sense of RE, they should have not continued. 3rd person don't bother me, heck make zombies faster, I dont see why not. The hunters and such mosnters would work in the 3rd person perspective.
Biggest load of BS i've read. No offense.
The RE universe is all about a VIRUS, RE4 sitaution is about a parasite, infected villages in spain. same concept, different targets.
lol at the survival factor being gone, it isn't. you can save your ammo and still do the thing you did in RE, your not forced to buy more weapons, etc. shock factor, IMO is still there and even more greater, RE1 didn't make me jump or scare me one bit. the sack head, Parasite dogs, Regenerators, beat anything RE1 had cooked up. General sense was there, just toned down with a more realistic proach, considering it was a different sitation, not a puzzled mansion...for god sakes. move forward from the old games, that was then, this RE is now. they can't all be identical, if it were, RE4 would have scored a 6.0.
Its not really the same concept. I don't get the jump from virus reviving the dead to parasites infecting and mutating. Its just a quick scapegoat to something randomly new. You gain too much ammo and money to purchase guns where you don't have to worry too much about being prepared. I never had a problems with anything on conserving anything, unless previous entry. The survivor theme is not there. thats for sure.
Eleminators, Crimsonheads, and so beat what you just listed. Realism, eh? That right, and yet there a mysterious stranger with a cloak full of guns. Yeah, realism at its finish. Resident Evil is not about realism. Puzzles can be all shapes, they could have easily been put in.
You could easily updated it and still stay true while being fresh. Just too much a dramatic jump for it.
yes it is, its still a virus, parasite, infecting people...same concept.
i didn't argue the rest of your argument, but those OLD elements are still there, i just hate when people say RE4 is NOT A SURVIVAL HORROR, but an ACTION game.
just stupid.
