LOL, the graphics are NOWHERE near Crysis level graphics.

Ill be the first to buy Killzone2 when it comes out, but its not anywhere near the graphics of crysis.

Crysis has a more appealing artistic design, mainly coming from the lighting and atmosphere....We all know Crysis wins in sheer realism and detail, but K2 stands its own ground and is overall a very detailed looking game. Depends on your tastes.

From what I've seen the game does not push the genre foward in any way. It's standard FPS fare. Nothing new there whats so ever.Locke562
SO a game has to be original, or it sucks? Tell me, What did Halo 3 do knew, concerning gameplay? At least killzone 2, pretty much revolutionises the way hit detection/animations/blood work...works for a FPS, apparently the first ever done FPS cover mode, works great too. LEts not forget the environments and some of the BEST lighting in a console game. Killzone 2 sets it self apart in some way, but honestly what did you expect from a FPS? Too much as alread been done for the genre.

But none of what you said explains why Nintendo has failed to support "core" gamers. We know that the Wii- games (ie Wii Sports, Wii Play and Wii Fit) generate a massive profit and only require small teams and a small budget to develop, so why were the Wii's best games released before Nintendo's windfall profits (not to mention all the cash they've made off of the DS)? The simple fact is Nintendo moved on not because of necessity (after all, SCEI was one of Sony's top-earning divisions prior to the PS3), but because of greed. I can't blame them for that, but a) people need to stop making excuses for them and b) Nintendo needs to stop ****ing in our toaster and calling it a pop-tart.PBSnipes
In there situation, its probably like 'why should we'...knowing how good these casual kiddy type games sell.....We all know there are more NON gamers, than gamers...and the audience of kids and new comers are greater, there plan to introduce new comers to simple gaming is an effective one...so basically reaching out to bigger audiences. They just don't feel the need to do so and only stick to the KNOWN core Nintendo games (1st party) after all, the whole thing with the cube and its rough sales, they just don't think its worth it, expecially with the way wii sells now. And believe me, there is no excuse here....i really could care less, since the competition does a fine job.

no, seriously, it's too cartoony. I would like for Sony to just grow a pair and release something brutal for a change, and Killzone 2 ain't that. mel brooks might be the ideal voice actor.

that a joke? How does Killzone 2 looks cartoony?

The 360 and PS3 are casualizing genres, while the Wii is popularizing new ones. Get it together.HoldThePhone
you could have read my Topic before replying. After the Cube, Nintendo had NO choice but to go this route. they understood that you couldn't have 3 giants with the high end tech, but deliver nothing different. Nintendo needed to stand out, otherwise it would just lose money, seeing how the cube failed hard, even tho it was more advanced than the PS2, etc. Stay on topic.

While Nintendo have taken a more casual and kiddy route, people don't understand that it was bound to happen, due to the fact that nintendo are a GAME ONLY COMPANY, they can't risk big decisions and bucks on hardware, if they arn't to sure of it being a success, unlikes Sony and MS, who have other devision to make up for losses, etc.

Yes it sucks, i wish Nintendo were more like the N64 era, to be honest, i like the Wii and the controller, it handles much better and feels more natural as a controller and games like RE4 and first person shooter, work incredible and better than your traditional controller. Too bad there arn't any TOP games and visually appealing games to make use of it and really show off the combination, but i'm hoping its something the next console can achieve. I could of imagined how better RE5 would have been if it were exclusive to the Wii, ALA RE4...and used the wiimote and hardware (if nintendo decided to have added more better hardware/graphics) we all know the Wiimote is much better for accuracy and shooting. Or a Metroid Prime game with the visuals of COD4/Killzone 2...using a Wiimote. Talk about realism..in all forms.

But yeah, not to carry on too much....hopefully Nintendo makes a **** load of cash this gen (which they most likely have) to invest in a much better hardware equiped console, that way it can appeal to ALL audiences. Because Wii's inferior hardware has kept it from getting many of the competition heavy hitting multiplats.

So we could have seen more titles.

Thoughts?

I'm over gears.....gears 1 is still kinda fun, thanks to its in your face intense fast action, (but even that game has lost that feeling).....something gears 2 bricked down the toilet. Gears 2 is clunky slow and very unbalanced. Sick of the Chainsaw and smoke nades, thats all gears 2 is now. Epic decided to go for realism over, Fun....IMO. b
