Just watched Master and Commander!

i really liked it:D I like how it focused on the hardships of the ship and its crew and captain rather than relying on sword fights. The big battle at the end was quite good though. Russell Crowe was great as usual and having read the book the movie was quite the surprise.

Overall i give it a 9 out of 10.

3:10 to Yuma wasn't that great.

I dont get the hype for it, sure Russell Crowe and Christian Bale were great in it, but it pretty much a collection of western cliches thrown into one movie. It wasn't bad, but there are many better westerns like the Proposition, dances with wolves and Open Range.

Any film lover should see Seraphim Falls!

My god what a surprise! I was expecting an old fashion gritty western but I was caught off guard. The film is slow paced with some great acting by Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson. Its also filled with symbolism, especially at the end. Some may call it pretentious, but I call it great. 9 out of 10 overall.

Just watched 30 days of night!

I liked it, I usually don't like Josh Harnett much except for Lucky Number Slevin. He was pretty good in this one and they made the vampires pretty creepy. Some cheap jump scares here and there but it was pretty brutal. Overall I would give it a 7, maybe an 8. Some parts were kinda illogical but they werent enough to make the movie bad, I recommend it:D

Just watched Con Air!

My god I have not had that much for watching a movie in ages! I know it was so cheesy and the ending so predictable, but John Cusack, John Malkovich, Nick Cage and Steve Buscemi were all so great in their roles and the action so over the top I just had to love it. Con Air gets my approval:D

My review of Doomsday!

Doomsday is a film of many faces, it turns from a post apocalyptic action film, to a a version of Excalibur where all the uninfected people of scotland live in a huge castle and have swords and armor, to a mad max style chase scene. It is not as many critics say a bad film. I wouldn't call it a great film, but for wjhat it is I think it is very well done. It is pretty much a reference to every 80s action movie made, and that my friends is not a bad thing. The story is a bit cliche ( Virus spreads across the U.K killing thousands and so a military squad is sent in to find the cure to the virus) but you are not looking for a good story when you see a film called Doomsday are you?

Overall grade...8 out of 10.

Short movie update 2.

I am almost done with the script and have found some good actors to play the main roles, I hope they will be able to do it though. I had two other recent ideas that I will probably work on after this one. The first one is a sort of action movie in a very 70s/80s style. It's about a guy who lives in an area where pretty much every house gets broken into. When his house is broken into and his friend murdered he finds the guy who did it and kills him, but after he does he finds a list of dates and times for other house break ins happening in the next few weeks. So the man ( Lets call him Andrew) decides to take justice into his own hands and hunts down each person about to do each break in before they can actually break into the houses.

The other idea I had was one I told OT before but I modified it slightly thanks to a poster I forgot the name of. It's pretty much a slasher that's all in first person. Meaning it will be shot from the perspective of the killer and the victim. I like the first person idea because it will make the movie very claustraphobic and tense since you don't really know whats coming next or where the killer is.

Short movie update 1!

I am still writing a script for the movie, but it's going well. The plot of the movie is a man obsessed with horror movies goes to rehab to try and curb his addiction, unfortunatly he is thrown out for being insane. Outside he meets a man who is part of a horror fangroup than meets in the area. As he goes deeper into the group, Ryan (which is his name for now) discovers that they are a bit more obsessive than he thought, they actually kidnap people and create their own horror homages with the kidnapped victims by placing them in an abandoned building and stalking them for a while before killing them in an over the top way.

So its a Dark comedy/horror movie, its pretty much an homage to all my favorite horror films. I will update more later when i get the chance:)
