I just ordered the last piece of the Current Gen Trinity. When my PS3 arrives a couple of days from now I will be a proud owner of an Xbox 360, a Wii & a PS3. I can finally start saving money for other things, the collection is complete!

I can now enjoy all the gaming goodness that will come my way for years and years to comesince I also recently bought a new computer.Also, the moviegeek that I am, I can finally transition to Blue-Ray instead of regular DVD.

You could write about Bioshock for 12 hours straight. I decided to stop after 2. I started writing my review and I couldnt stop. Still I missed mentioning so much. I didnt mention the voices of the splicers, talking to themselves when they dont know that you´re there for example. I also didnt tell you how I personally played the game. So lets talk about that now. Comment on this post and tell me how YOU played through Bioshock. Personally, I played it like Quake. Me and ma shotgun, explosive rounds for the daddies. I just shot everthing that moved, made sureI spent all my cash on ammo and all genetic splicing for taking more damage, getting more health and doing more damage. I pretty much only used plasmids for melting ice and moving traps. I kinda rescued MOST of the Little sisters but couldnt help but harvest some of them. But anyway. Heres my bioshock review! A game that nobody should miss out on.

My Bioshock Review

Those of you that have read my blog now and then knows how much I´m "into" Cliff Bleszinski. From time to time I like to just copy & paste a blog post of his into mine just because hes still the worlds greatest blogger. So the time has come again. Really.

You should be doing one of three things right now:

1. Playing Bioshock

About time someone resurrected the Deus Ex/System Shock formula of Shooter/RPG. This game has it all; depth, beauty, and excitement. It's like meeting the perfect woman if only she happened to like underwater art deco paradises filled with genetic schenanigins, creepy little girls and monsters in dive armor.

Yes, I know this sounds weird if you haven't played the thing but you owe it to yourself to pick it up and give it a go. The audio work in the product is second to none. Now, I'm a sap for that whole Post WW2 music and imagery so I have a bit of a skewed opinion here but man every time I hear a daddy come near or the creepy girl's voice my ass puckers like I'm about to go over a speed bump at 60 miles per hour.

2. Playing Stranglehold

It's funny, I finally feel like developers are finally "getting" next-gen. We're past the transition where they're figuring out the tools and are just able to pump out great product. Here's a game that made me actually want to go back and watch every John Woo movie ever made and reminded me what is so cool about stylized gunfights. From the Mexican standoffs to the **** Exploding Everywhere this game has it all in spades. Plus this is the rare example of a title where a celebrity endorsing his likeness (Chow Yun Fat) actually enhances the experience. (Previous example was Vin Diesel in "Chronicles of Riddick.")

If the money shot in Gears of War was chainsawing someone then Stranglehold's version of that is shooting guys in the nuts. Seems like the guys at Midway truly got that it doesn't matter how good your graphics are if no one ever sees them- you have to do Cool Stuff (tm) with your camera such as bringing it up close and personal - tracking a bullet as it zips into someone's skull... or baby maker.

Now I know a lot of what is in Stranglehold was in Max Payne before - **** off - I don't really care. It's been years since Max Payne and dammit I'm quite ready for the original father of ballerina gunplay to come along and show y'all how it's done. Context sensitive slo motion is the bomb and I think I could just sit there and shoot those watermelons over and over all day long.

The above products utilize Unreal Engine 3 which we produce. They just so happen to kick ass and I'm friends with a great deal of the people who worked on them so the least I could do is plug their amazing titles.

3. Watching SUPERBAD. Over and over and over.

I was *this* close to getting "McLovin" on my license plate the night before this movie came out but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. There'd be two kinds of people in this world - those who saw the movie and get the joke and think it's the greatest plate of all time or those that think I'm cockmaster 2000 and would proceed to throw eggs and salami at me.

So, I didn't do it.

But this is the movie of the year. Start to finish filled with amazing, raunchy, as god himself intended physical nasty comedy. A few high school geeks trying to get booze just so they can get laid - what's more American than that?

This is the Napoleon Dynamite of the year except for the fact that this movie is actually funny. The kid who plays Mclovin steals every shot he's in ("I got a boner!" "Break yoself fool!") and the uncomfortable interactions between the boys and the girls play out extremely well. I missed a good collection of one liners because everyone in the theater was laughing uncontrollably.

This warrants a repeated viewing. I will buy the extended platinum hyper alpha deluxe edition of this film the day it hits DVD and I will continue to gush to everyone I meet about it.

On a sidenote Blue Dragon arrived in the mail today. This marks the beginning of the gaming madness that is the fall of 07. Tomorrow Bioshock drops down in my mailbox and then its officially on. Stranglehold, Super Paper Mario, Tekken 5 and then Halo 3 in a matter of weeks, and after that it gets even worse. You already know how crazy it will be so why am I even telling you this. Anyway, played ~8 Hours of Blue Dragon today according to the ingame counter and I just barely scratched the surface of it, so not gut reactions just yet.

The only Anime I have every truly watched is Hellsing and Naruto. Hellsing didnt impress me to much but I ended up watching like over 100 episodes of Naruto. Since then no Anime has really caught my interest. UntilI recently heard aboutand got recommended to watch "Black Lagoon". I got the vol.1 DVD in the mail today and have just seen the first episode. Its about this suit from Tokyo that is supposed to make a delivery crossing some dangerious seas. He gets taken hostage by some pirates and due to some different reasons he joins them and the series follow these modern day seapirates. Ep.1 took us to a dark shady bar and out on the open sea. The show is mainly actionfocused with some really mindblowing actionsequences. The art****is clearly more mature than Naruto and the whole thing got a big dose of humor. I´m getting the feeling I will buy the vol.2 DVD when its released here. I can really recommend this for anyone thats into mature action anime and for anyone slightly into anime overall. Great characters, great action, great humor and very sharp animation!

..and have it connected to the Internet, you should download Paper Mario NOW! I managed to miss this great title when it was first released on the N64 in 2001. We in Europe are still waiting for Super Paper Mario and until then I´m gonna be glued in front of my TV with Cla.ssic Controller in hand. I just kinda ran into the Gamespot review of the game and saw they gave it a 9.0. Thats an Editors Choice award to a Wii VC game. So I thought "hey, maybe I´m missing out on something by not playing this game". I was right. This game STILL looks and plays awesome. Sometimes I feel like I´m playing an actual Wii title. Its just in some cases where the age shows its face like in the text or the sometimes old 3D environments. But everything else just looks gorgeous and it can do so because they make everything look like paper. Everything is paper cutouts and its fantastic to look at even 6 years after its release. The story is rich and fun as well as the dialogue.I´m playin a mariogame but with the depth of an RPG with leveling up, hitpoints, damagepoints and turnbased combat and its great! Its something I should have played 6 years ago but thanks to the VC I can do it now. I´m looking forward to many late nights with Paper Mario, starting tonight. This must be the most value for your money on the VC yet. Its a long, addicitve, deep experience with great story, dialogue, humor & combat and I´m completely blown away by how well it holds up even to this day when it comes to the presentation. I totally agree with Gamespot. So far this is a 9.0 scoring title that shouldnt be missed if you own a Wii. Forget about the retail titles. The hottest game on the Wii at the moment is on the Virtual Console. My anticipation for SUPER Paper Mario just doubled and is now one of my most anticipated games for this fall.

So I went and saw Transformers today, maybe the coolest and most visually awesome movie I have ever witnessed...and I dont say stuff like that very often... The thing I want to talk about tho is people that ruin the movie for everyone else. I´ve run into loads of different jerks in a movietheater but today frikkin took the price. It was this dad and his son sitting on the row behind us and the son kept saying "what is he saying!!" out loud everytime someone said something in the movie. What did the father do you ask? He translated what they were saying to Swedish, him to, without whispering. 5 seconds passed and then it repeated. DAD! WHAT IS SHE SAYING!. And the father translated once again. I dont get what is wrong in the brainoffice of parents doing stuff like that. Insisting on taking their 8 year old kid that obiously must have a hard time understanding his animated Cartoon Network stuff at home, to see Transformers. Cant he think just for 1 second that there are other people that really likes movies and that payed over 10 bucks to see this movie?! If hes gonna let his kid see a blockbuster summer actionmovie, wait to its out on DVD and sit home on the couch and translate the whole thing for him there! The combined strenght of 6 or 7 angry looks from the rest of us finally made him realize that maybe people were trying to watch a movie in there so he actually started to whisper instead. Yaay, go hiim! Learn to show some respect in the moveitheathers. Dont go if youre sick and constantly need to blow your nose and dont go if your kid cant help but scream "OH LOOOK WOW COOOL!" everytime something happens (learn him somecinema manners first for petes sake)and DONT go of you need to translate the whole manuscript to your stupid as cake son who cant see that there are robots beating each other up on the screen! Parents these days are overall sloppy when it comes to teaching their kids some manners and taking responsibility as parents. Me and a friend recently discussed this and yea well this is another addition to the discussion. Well ok, with that out of the way, go see Transformers if you havent already. There has been really visually impressive movies before, and I mean REALLY impressive. This blows it away without even flinching. Shia LeBeouf obviously is this new rising star that Steven Spielberg found and I can absolutely see what he sees in him. This guy will have a great future just like the female leadpart played by Megan Fox, a REAL hottie, yum yum yum. Send her my way!

Gamespots latest episode in "Behind the games" is up and this time its about as good as it can get. The wisest man in the industry, the person I want to become whenI grow up, the man who knows more about what makes a game awesome than anyone else on the planet, Cliff "Cliffy B" Bleszinski is this weeks guest on the show. Everytime this man do an interview its like time stands still. Every word this man has to say is so interesting in my ears that I just stare at him for as long as the interview goes on. Hes not only the worlds greatest gaming genious and blogger. Hes also actually one of the coolest men in the world. Yes, you are right, I do kinda "manlove" this guy. He is about as cool as you can get..and hes a hardcore gamer, lead designer and level designer! I started my Cliffy B loving back when I played Unreal 1 and Unreal Tournament. Back then he made the best multiplayer shooter maps ever made and they still are the best multiplayer shooter maps ever! He then went ahead and made Gears of War what it is today, one of the greatest and most important actiongames ever! No, I´m not homosexual actually but yea, if I were a girl, I would go across the planet to make Cliff have my babies! They would grow up to begaming genoiuses & attention whores with a sharp sense of humor, fashion and how to live your life like you want to!

Anyway. go watch "Behind the games". Cliffy talks about how he got started, what he thinks about the industry, about music, movies and generally showing what a relaxed cool man he is.
