Im not saying it doesn't take skill, but it doesn't always equal out to be fun either. The fun in Gears is that you have to work together in small teams and you only have one life so your not going to just charge in and waste that life a lot of the times. A lot of the fun in Gears is when you get in a horrible predicament like 3v1 and you have to either fight your way out or fall back to where the rest of your team is. In a twitch 1 shot 1 kill game you really cant have moments like that because if you stick your head out or move a muscle your gonna be killed.

There are plenty of 1 hit kill weapons in Gears, but you have to fight over them and with only one life it makes it even more interesting since you gotta take into account that if you try to go for it you may not be there for the rest of the match. The skill part is distributed in a more intellectual manner.

And RTSs take the most skills :D

But seriously, this is going to rock...

Never got into GeoW gameplay.

Then, you shouldn't purchase the second one. I wouldn't do it if I were you.

I played Gears for half a year to a year online and still find it fun to play ever so often. If you try to run and gun yeah its gonna be boring, but if you got two good teams facing eachother its one of the most intense moments you can have in a game. When it comes down to things like you being the last person left alive vs 4 then you got to be very strategic in how you play. Its not like most shooters where you have to be twitchy just to win.

Just about every other shooter, and especially in COD4. In gears you have a mutual firefight a lot of times before one dies making it more like a tug of war rather than being pushed off a ledge in a blink of an eye.

Yes, you unquestionably do. And no, Gears of War isn't a game that's "worry-free".

you arent missing much with cod4 online. half of the people are retardedly bad, a fourth are good, and a fourth are just average joes. not much competition on there, regardless of what mode you play. i thought gears was a lot more competitive as a whole.

actually, gears gameplay is a 9/10. there are some games that get perfect 10's in gameplay. So gears 2 would be awesome with 10/10 in gameplay.rgame1

My favorite was head stomping... that's better than chainsaw kills. Now, they need like an ultimate melee kill like austin power's judo chop!
