Most disturbing movie I've ever seen is Irreversible, still a great movie though. I do enjoy my disturbing movies :D

Cactus_Matt

oh man, that film scarred me!

The most distrubing film I've ever seen is probably Scum. I haven't seen it in a while but when I first saw it all those years ago it left me traumatised.

PS: Cactus_Matt, David Lynch owns :D

Oh man, after viewing the picture in that link... I think I feel sorry for the fairground ride.

WAIT! Empathy for an inanimate object? This is the beginnng of my spiritual demise.

best songs = no no. the sooner people get out of their " i only get specific songs" stage, the closer they are to really enjoying and appreciating music. get led zeppelin 1-4 + physical graphiti, and the album achilles last stand is on, coda?nimatoad2000

It's on Presence and it's a mediocre album, although that is one of their best songs.

Anyway their first 6 albums (I - IV, Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti) are all deemed to be essential. III is my favourite but IV is regarded as their masterpiece.

Can't say I listen to them much anymore. When I found out that they stole a lot of material from other artists and passed it of as their own... well that kind of ruined it for me.

The Smiths, Gang of Four, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Husker Du, The Minutemen, The Vaselines, Beat Happening.... Just a fewSpiralStairsS

I love you.

The 80s was such a great decade for music that it's practically impossible for me to mention my favourites witout leaving out some... but I shall try and post some bands I don't think have been mentioned yet anyway.

The Replacements, Galaxie 500, The Pastels, The Soft Boys, Big Black, The dB's, The Feelies, Mission of Burma, My Bloody Valentine, Violent Femmes, Rites of Spring, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Meat Puppets, Billy Bragg, X, Young Marble Giants...

That's kind of like picking a favorite food, or the most beautiful girl, it's just too hard to go with one.

I recommend that people less familiar with Bob listen to Girl From the North Country with Johnny Cash or Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat.

Second_Rook

aww, no way! The version from The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan is so much better. Easily one of my favourite songs ever.

[QUOTE="super_mario_128"] Me neither. I don't count bands whose discography's aren't entirely interesting to me. The Beatles for example. I can listen to about five tracks, but the rest is boring to me. 1. Pink Floyd 2. King Crimson 3. Rush Ones who I listen to but who fall under the category above: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Mars Volta and The Cure.super_mario_128

Wow. You can only listen to roughly five Beatles songs? Are you sure you've heard enough Beatles songs?

Probably not. I find their music generally boring and too upbeat. Let It Be and Across The Universe are my favourites. If you want to recommend some for me (outside of Hey Jude, Yesterday, Come Together, Ticket to Ride and Here Comes The Sun) go ahead.

i'll list some of my favourite (not so up-beat :P ) Beatles songs then...

Tomorrow Never Knows

Mother Nature's Son

I'm Only Sleeping

She's Leaving Home

Nowhere Man

of course, it is possible that you just aren't a fan, which is fine. "Different strokes..." and all that.

I was reading this the other day and I'm intertested to hear where the people of OT stand on the issue.

So, do you download music illegally? Do you believe music is a commodity to be bought and sold? Do you think the repercussions for downloading music are far too excessive for the nature of the crime?

Or do you side with the RIAA? Do you think people who download music, without paying for it, are essentially stealing from the artist - making it much more difficult for them to create future music for the perpetrator's enjoyment?

post away.
