WHAT??? You have got to be kidding!!! I was going to buy Warhead off Steam hoping to avoid this DRM nonsense. Well, there goes my hard drive upgrade intentions. I reckon I'll have to get that last SATA 80 GB into the box and live with a total of 320GB for a while.... I can always record my music onto an external drive and give up Porn.... (snicker snicker... :o)

I was quite disappointed when I bought the port of Halo 2 for my PC, so I don't want to make the same mistake. Is it any good?wado-karate

Why were you disappointed with Halo 2 for PC? I ask because I'm still playing Halo CE on PC and having a great time with it (The online Multiplayer version, not the single player). I played and enjoyed Halo 2 on X-Box and was considering it for the PC primarily for the Multiplayer aspect....

I played Gears of War on the X-Box 360 with my son and after getting over the 3rd person view (as opposed to first person), I enjoyed it. I don't think I'd get it for PC but I'm looking to see what Gears of War 2 will shape up to be.

There are no enemy planes, but tornados do start appearing and catching up behind you if you go too slow and linger too long in an area.JP_Russell

Oh great. So much for high rez, AA and AF and floating around being facinated with the environment... (NOT!! LOL!!!). Ok, I just have to keep moving and keep shooting until everything is dead.... which is how I handle things on the ground anyway...

THANKS GUYS!!!

I can live with Internet Activation but that is it. I use to do more frequent upgrades of my PC hardware but now I do far fewer upgrades because I don't want to have to deal with re-activating the OS plus applications. Luckily, my Vista system has remained stable for the year that I've had it. That hasn't always been Windows strong point though...

I recognize the need for software companies to prevent piracy. It takes money out of their pockets. What I can't stand is DRM that limits the number of installs you can do of software you purchased. Things like that have the opposite effect and actually cause people to pirate software, in my opinion.

Oh great. In addition to Alien freak fest- there are planes attacking and Tornados to avoid? I'm dead meat!! LOL!!! It's funny, because I rule racing games and have no trouble driving any land based vehicle with wheels on the ground, but put me in any airborn vehicle and I suck!! LOL!!!

Hold on... I CAN CHANGE THE CAMERA VIEW??? YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! THANK YOU... THANK YOU... THANK YOU!!!!! :-D

Never had your own computer before? Welcome to our world!! Everyone in my house has always had their own computer and theirs are usually better and faster than mine so everyone stays away from mine!!

If you have Steam with Orange Box and Counterstrike, you've got some good gaming going on there. I'm still playing the Original Halo for PC (I just can't let it go). If you want to go further back, there is Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament 2004. Jedi Knight/Jedi Academy were good. Blood 2 was one of my favorites. It all depends on what you want and what you like.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!

Ok,

Perhaps it is because I was playing Crysis at 6:30am with no coffee before having to get ready for work, but this is driving me nuts!! I forgot the name of the level, but I'm sure you Crysis players know what it is. After saving Helena and Prophet and getting them into the VTOL, we are in the VTOL flying and come under attack. The pilot takes a hit and unfortunately NOMAD now has to pilot the VTOL, which sucks because I'm not a Pilot. So I get killed the first time I try to pilot the VTOL and shoot at the same time. Second and third time up (Thank God, I quick-saved), I can barely get the thing moving. I press "W" and nothing happens. I have to hold "W" + "S" + "Left Shift" just to get it moving using the Keyboard. Get to the spot and have to switch to the Gamepad to aim and shoot and keep getting killed by the Alien monsters. Can anyone suggest a way to get through this cr@p??? I HATE PILOTING THE VTOL!! THE CONTROLS S##K!!!! Why can't one of the other guys fly the thing while I shoot??? That would be SOOOO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Suggestions on how to get through this part of the level??

Whether I had a Radeon HD 4870, an NV 8800GT, or my lower end Radeon HD 3850, I'd probably still not run Crysis on Max because I want more FPS, not to stand around looking at the pretty high rez environment while some Alien monster is killing me. I got distracted as it was in the anti-grav environment while on the ship... the only thing that would inspire me to do higher rez are a higher rez monitor (that I could get far enough away from) and Crossfire X.

When I was running a Sapphire Radeon HD 2600 PRO, I averaged 26FPS on Crysis. It got too choppy when I was in big fire fights, so I went up one generation to the Radeon HD 3850 and have smooth 34.9 FPS. I can live with that for a while. And before anyone says it, believe me, I WOULD LOVE to have a Radeon HD 4870 or 4870 X2 but I need a lower power system than either of those cards could run in and the price on the Radeon 3850 was right. ($79.99 after rebate. Cost as much as a Radeon HD 4670, but 256 bit vs. 128 bit).

If Warhead runs better and the things that drive me Crazy about Crysis are better in Warhead (VTOL CONTROLS!! ARRRGHHH!!), then I am surely getting it!!

However, I fail to see the point in DRM- it's making legitimate consumers jump through more and more hoops while all the pirates have to do is download the game and never have to worry about install limits or activations. Who are they really hurting here?

teardropmina

they're doing this to prevent/limit legit copy circulation. according to Corporate logic and intellectual *property* law, Crysis Warhead IS EA/Cryetk's *property.*

and this time, they finally make it clear! if you guys have any doubt...they actually print on the disc:

"Do Not Lend or Make Illegal Copies of this Disc"

Do Not LEND!

this DRM is to help making sure of that part and more - do not re-sell this game on ebay or Amazon either.

Wait a minute... since when can you not sell a game on Ebay that you legally purchased? That has been happening on Ebay all day long for years...
