Not to worry. The next one will be set in either WWI or II. They just waited until all three developers did their own sci-fi COD game before going back to the past.
@balrogbane: I think the remaster of CoD 4 has something to do with it, as far as the preorders of Infinite Warfare go. They're using it to prop up sales.
Isn't the release schedule pretty much the same with each iteration? Game releases in November, then the map packs every 2-3 months. Little has changed with this series as far as content releases (DLC), and I don't expect it to change any time soon.
Two months into the year, before Black Ops 3 even gets its first map pack, and they're already announcing the next one? At least they waited until April last year. This just shows how little they really care about their product.
@mrdinghat: It's also misleading, as there is currently no way to buy the items directly. What you're really paying for is a chance (a really small one, I assume) to get one of them. It's gambling, plain and simple.
