To quote myself

I wrote this up on the PS3 forum, and thought it perfectly demonstrated my views on the system. Hate to quote myself, but here goes:

"Look, here's the thing, okay? I'm willing to pay for a $600 system. There are many, many people on this forum who are willing to pay $600. But that's because we're the hardcore group. The majority of consumers don't care enough to come on these forums, and those are the people who will look at it this way: GTA4 on $400 system, GTA4 on $600 system. That's it. They won't care about the Blu-ray player, because they won't know what the hell one is. They won't care about the stupid Cell processor, because that will be way out of their league. The housewives buying a present for their kids will look at the Wii and go, "Hey, that one's a third the price of the bigger one." Most people are barely willing to drop $600 for necessities, much less a freaking video game system. My main point is simply that Sony, by putting in equipment that's not entirely necessary at this stage of the industry, has severely endangered themselves.

Also, this stuff is extremely expensive to make. If Sony is in second place in this generation, they lose. If they're in first, they still take a major hit. Sony has put itself in so much trouble by sticking in this stuff that's not really necessary. And it doesn't help that people are reacting to the price. Now, talking about PlayStation in my high school will result in cries of its price from various people in the room. Sony is in danger, and that is my main issue with the PS3. "

Bam!

Music, games, and life... ah...

Long post time. Alright. I can do it. Let's go.

Well, I haven't mentioned it much, but I'm kind of an avid musician. For the uninformed, that equates to me playing the guitar, bass, piano, mandolin, drums, flute, and the keyboard (side note: I kind of suck at the drums and flute). So, as one would expect, I enjoy writing music.

The problem is, whenever I write music, it always comes out very somber-sounding. When I'm writing on guitar, I'll try to work with power chords and let my fingers do what they want to... but, ten minutes later, I have the most emo-sounding song you've ever heard. Luckily, from here I mix it up a little and make it a blues song, which is good. But still, I'm not a goth kid! I do not sit in my room writing dark poetry!

Maybe it's all the satanist quests I've been taking on in Oblivion...

Anyways.

I'm really enjoying Shadow of the Colossus, but I can't ever give myself an excuse to play it. I think, okay, I'm gonna play this, because I enjoy it, and- oh, look, I'm playing San Andreas again. I don't even like San Andreas, and I've been playing it in place of such brilliant works as Shadow of the Colossus and Psychonauts. I feel guilty now. Ugh.

Back to the music! I would like to dispel a rumor/belief: rock soloing, like Stairway to Heaven or (insert Guns N' Roses song here)? Very easy. Not as difficult as it sounds. Just fast. Moving on.

I require alcohol.

Anyways, I've been trying to get sound clips of some of my songs from GarageBand on here (go Mac!... as I use a PC), but GS is not being friendly. Time to pull out tricks. I should be able to put some music up within the next few weeks, but probably not my more complex stuff. Because GS is unfriendly.

Curse you, Greg Kasavin!

...

Yeah, I kid.

Anyways, long post done. Enjoy. Comment. Donate money.

By the way? Agent Black is dead. I didn't like the name. Currently thinking up a new one. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

Spinal Tap!

Now, I call for something else: music from the greatest band of all time, Spinal Tap. If you do not know of Spinal Tap, watch "This is Spinal Tap" and enjoy. Nigel Tufnel is awesome.

More short posts. What's up?

Halo 3=Awesome

Well, I'm really just impressed with the music. If anyone's got the sheet music to Halo games, let me know! Yeah, short post.

Well, Microsoft won

Between this and my previous post it may seem like I'm a Microsoft fanboy. I'm not; you'll notice that I have no award for watching the Microsoft press conference. I was so disappointed from Sony's conference that I decided to skip the whole event and check out any interesting tidbits as they happened.

Well, that was a mistake.

Almost immediately, I see "BREAKING NEWS: Fable 2 announced!"

Hey, cool, Fable 2, I loved Fable. This is gonna be a cool game, Peter Molyneux is-

"BREAKING NEWS: Halo 3 trailer on Xbox Live!"

Well, damn, I don't have my 360 here. I guess I can wait, though, but-

"BREAKING NEWS: GTA4 coming for 360!"

Wow. How much did they pay for that? Seriously, that's incredibly cool-

"BREAKING NEWS: Somehow, Agent Black is missing this!"

Hey, they know who-

"BREAKING NEWS: Agent Black has to be retarded or something!"

Well, that's not nice.

Anyways, I sincerely regretted missing the conference, but I'm thrilled to see that my 360 was worth the price. Oh, and I'm waiting to see the Halo 3 trailer on my hi-def screen at my other house, so NO ONE SPOIL IT FOR ME!

I can't believe Sony did that. Ah, well.

Sony press conference

It just ended, and I couldn't be happier. That was disgusting. No FFVII remake, the only amazing game was MGS4, the only interesting game was Eight Days (and that was pre-rendered footage), and the lower price in their pricing system they stole from the 360 is $500 ***ing dollars.

If you want to see the running commentary I and a few others did during the entire thing- from the hour-long delay in the beginning to the boring Gran Turismo HD to the outrageous prices- you can find our thread here:

It's quite funny, quite biting, and very true. I endorse almost every opinion in the thread.

I'm off to get some sleep. And to get a job. How the hell am I gonna pay for the PS3....

Happiness is a warm DS

Pwnage time! My brother's birthday just passed, and he got a DS. Which means, I got a DS! It's blue. With it, I (fine, "we") have Mario Kart, Partners in Time, and Tetris. But that's irrelevant, because we have Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow! It's like being in an anime. About vampires. Ah, vampires... will you never learn... Anyways, I really want to play, but since it's technically my brother's present, he has rule over the DS for some time. I may have to buy my own DS Lite when it comes out. Castlevania is awesome. Zombies are bad. Donuts are unhealthy. Hmmm... any other words of wisdom for today? ... Nah. Adios! -Agent Black out

Advent Children... and more! Well, not really.

I own Advent Children, but buying it kind of feels like spending money on a game once I've beaten it at a friend's house. Here's hoping you get the metaphor, as I can't really openly say it without getting in some trouble. I'm thrilled to have the DVD (the PSP version wasn't tempting enough to purchase), but I've been really sensitive with my money recently because I'm saving for a Creative Zen, I'm about halfway there ($170 out of $400, not including the money my Dad will undoubtedly contribute), and I want it really bad. Thirty gigs of awesome in a sleeker-than-the-iPod package? That's veritably stuponfucious. Yeah, I'm liking the links today. Anyways, someone donate to me. Or not. Whatever. -Agent Black out

Enough!

I was just asked to join a Nintendo DS union.

I don't own a Nintendo DS, nor have I ever mentioned the system.
