I am going to move houses and we are not going to have internet there. Our neighbors will have it somewhere like 200 feet away (give or take) through a couple walls (kitchen ect...) well we have been there before and had just enough signal to serf the web for an hour or so before the internet gave out and you would have to reconect, or somedays you could not connect. Yes, they know what we are doing :) . I know there are some directional antenas I could use, but is there anything like a booster that I could place at midpoint between the houses to boost the signal? Or am I just dreaming? lol

I got the AMD Phenom II 940 AM2+ 3.0 GHz quad core (not overclocked) with a stock fan and heatsink. I also have a new Azza case with like 5 fans total (very nice case) all on air with room temp being 28* C. I have plenty of room in my case as well for air flow. At idle I get around 43* C (lowest ever got was 41* C). But when I use prime 95 my temps skyrocket... 50... 60... 70... I finnaly turned prime 95 off when my temps got to 76* C. It took a few mins to get there but still... I think it would have gone higher. Is 76 * C to high for this? I think it is but not sure. Could there be something wrong with my heatsink or something? I have just got this cpu and heatsink yesterday. Thanks.

If it beeps with no ram, your motherboard just might not like that ram for some reason. You might see if you can find what diagnostic beeps mean, and if its a ram error your motherboard is probably ok, do you have any other ram you could try in it? Captain__Tripps

sorry i have no other ram. but even with no ram no beeps come from the mobo.

You might try no ram at all and see if you get any beeps. Most mb will give some sort of diagnostic beep I think if there is no ram. If still no beeps seems like it may be your motherboard. If all else fails you could take it out of your case, strange as it seems i've had that fix things, perhaps a short somewhere... (try powering it up outside the case) You should also try unpluging any peripherals such as hard drives, soundcard, etc...Captain__Tripps

no beeps with no ram. hmmm fewy... i got the mobo with the cpu as a combo. now i think i have to send them both back :( unles you got any other ideas? thanks though!

Is the pc speaker connected? Do you get any beeps? And have you tried just one stick of ram?Captain__Tripps

The pc speaker is connected but when i turn it on it does not beep. I ahve tryed just one stick and nothing changes. Also... i am able to turn it on with the power button but am unable to turn it off by holding down the power button (aka hard shut down) I have to flip the switch in the back to shut it off. Are you thinking its the mobo?

hey i just bought the

ECS IC780M-A AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

a video card amd 2.9 dual core cpu ect...

and 4 gigs of pqi ram. however, when i plug everything in my pc for the first time and turn it on i get a black screen saying "no signal". I know its not the video card caus i take that same video card and put it in a nother mobo and it works like it should. The video card works good. So its either the mobo or the mobo / ram compatibility. Now heres my question... In the manual it has all the types of ram and brands that "have been tested" for that mobo, and the pqi ram is not one of them. you think that could be the caus of a pc with no video? Everything else works like it should but no video "no signal". Or should i jsut get another mobo? thanks!

Hey, I was wondering i have vista basic 32 bit, and i wanted the dual channel but with 3 gigs ram, i know that 32 bit can only use 3 gigs. if i was to put 4 gigs in my computer (two, 2 gig ram sticks) that would make it dual channel right?
