@dev-raid1: I don't know... MVP Baseball 2005 was absolutely perfect. I have MLB The Show 15 and 16 when I switched to the PS4. I mean, it's great and I play it everyday but I still think it doesn't quite come close to MVP Baseball 2005.
@tr4newreck: Exactly. Fool me once... (Wii) shame on you. Fool me twice... (Amiibo), shame on me. And now the 3rd time with the NES Classic? **** that. The crazy thing is... people will still fall for it for the 4th time with the Switch! Yikes.
(For the record, I only bought the Wii and regretted it. Didn't care for Amiibo junk. Then I wanted the NES Classic but with it unavailable, don't want it anymore. Then I still pulled for Nintendo to bounce back with the Switch but that looks like it ain't happening. Bummer.)
@philnolan3d: Yikes, no kidding. Here I thought those two terrible looking games were part of the package, like Wii Sports. Fun for an hour and that's about it. If they are seriously considering charging $50 for that, they're insane. But then again, I think they're insane with charging $80 for controllers and $300 for the console. I really want Nintendo to bounce back, but from the looks of things, they might just go out with a whimper instead.
@danjammer69: 2015 was my first ever MLB The Show since I didn't have a PS3 and I've been dying for a baseball game since MVP Baseball 2005 on the original Xbox. =o
Anyhow, I have MLB The Show 15 and 16 and honestly? Not much difference other than updated roster. The two modes they added was Conquest and Battle Royale mode. Both of them use those fake trading cards that make them a ton of money and you play 3 inning games instead of 9. I tried it, but didn't care for it. I'm more of a Franchise and Road to the Show guy... so 15 and 16 was similar for me.
I personally might not bother with 17 at this rate. Good luck with your decision.
@omegasloth: Correct. No difference between physical and digital in that regard. That's one thing I definitely don't like about this generation. Having to install it AND download a stupid day 1 update on top of it.
However, one thing physical has over digital (besides being able to sell it) is that if you uninstall the game and want to play it sometime again down the line, you can re-install it within minutes on disc. Whereas if you went digital, you would have to download the whole game again and then install it.
