@kaliskonig: Agreed. I learned my lesson with the Wii. For months I could not find it and people kept raving about how awesome it was. Hype. When I finally saw it in Target one day (and they had 2 left in stock), I just bought it without giving it a second thought. Wii Sports was great, for an hour. After that... holy crap. Lots of regret.

So basically with this mini NES and when it was announced, I thought it was cool. But when I found out you can't pre-order it in advance and that stores would only carry like 24 of them? Screw that. I don't want it anymore.

I might have to buy it just to support them. This is almost proof that companies do hold back content for DLC. Hence the "complete game" comment. They know it, we know it. People just didn't want to believe it. That's how DLC was handled originally anyway. It was free as a "thank you" for buying and supporting their game. It was to extend the life of the game as well, while they work on the next one. Then somewhere down the line, it got way out of control because they realized that people won't think twice about buying DLC. Either way, I can go on and on about this topic but kudos to Respawn. Like others have said though, it's EA... so certainly expect a crap ton of micro transactions. Hopefully it's just for nothing but useless cosmetics.

Welp, it's almost November. For everyone out there who are with me and say that the micro-transaction BS needs to go away... Enough is enough. It's time for everyone to stick to their guns and make their voices heard with their wallets. Will that happen? Probably not. I know I won't buy it, so there's that. I know they won't miss my $60 bucks but I'll keep my fingers cross that enough people don't break like a twig and change their damn minds. Just remember that you can survive without having to play the newest COD.

@TimmyDKJR: You make a good point but I actually have friends who aren't currently subscribed to PS+ because they aren't playing anything online at the moment. But they still want to jump in and see if they should get the game. If they do, they'll re-sub to PS+ at the same time. So that part is a good thing. But you're right, generally people who don't care for PS+ or Xbox Live wouldn't care for a multiplayer game like this anyway.

It's not surprising really. Like others have already said.. it was just the "cool" thing to do. That's how it works with casual gamers and non-gamers. What's the best way to put it...? They're like sheep. Everyone is doing it, so they need to do it too. The main thing though is that hopefully the ones that did discover Pokemon and want to actually play it, well... hopefully they bought a 3DS and purchased X, Y, OR, or AS. That's where the meat of the game is anyway.

@3D3: Wasn't Versus XIII suppose to somehow tie in with XIII anyway? Unless I'm remembering wrong, I could have sworn the plan was for Lightning and her party to meet up/come across Noctis and his friends or whatever. But because Versus XIII never panned out, I think they just went ahead and made XIII-2 and XIII-3 because of money. That's why they got a trilogy, because the original plan was for 3 games anyway. But hey, I could be remembering everything wrong.. haha.

@Mariner32: While I agree with you, there are just no excuses anymore for a game like FFXV.

@NoisyPepper: I think ultimately, it depends on when the beta was released. Let's face it. When Battleborn and Overwatch had their betas, I believe it was 1 month before its actual release. When that happens, you KNOW they're already done with the game. They're just stress testing the servers even though they pretend that they're going to listen to feedback when you know they're not. When Black Ops 3 had their beta, I believe it was in August.. 3 months before its release date. Even then, you know they were done with the game too because they had 3 freaking years to work on it.

As for Battlefield 3, to this day, I still don't regret not buying it. At first I felt like I might have been missing out by canceling my pre-order. Heck, the Gamestop employee said the same thing you did too. But I went to a friend's house to play it and to me, it felt the same as the beta. *Shrug* It just wasn't for me and I'm fine with that. Overall, I'm just happy that these companies are bold enough to let players play the beta. It's a great way for me personally to know when to save my money and when I should spend it, if I'm on the fence.

@UnrealPro: Well, that's fine if you know you'll enjoy it. I give betas a try if I'm on the fence. I remember how much I hated Battlefield 3's beta that I canceled my pre-order. I also remember how bland and boring Battleborn's beta felt so I saved $60 on that. Look at all the price cuts it has gotten, I felt like I made a good choice. Then with the Overwatch beta, I had a blast so I got it. So yeah, for me.. I'll definitely play the beta. I'm done with Call of Duty and I'm hoping to jump over to Battlefield 1. But first, I need to see if I like it.

@bwats84: Exactly. The game being "free" on PS+ actually helped the game and company out more than anything. Word of mouth really works. If it weren't for it being on PS+, I highly doubt it ever gets an Xbox One release, much less them making millions of dollars.
