She was great in the Fallout series. She managed to put on an earnest optimistic performance without being one note and annoying (unlike Kamala Khan in the Marvels who overplayed a similar too earnest role).

Ella Purnell carries on the tradition by being yet another great actress from the UK which has produced so many.

Is it just me or does the audio in Metroid Prime 4 sound tinny and overly compressed?

I’m big on audio and the sound and music are screechy and sibilant like they turned up the treble too much. It’s not just MP4, Switch games all have substandard audio with no bass or midrange.

This is what happens when too much compression is used to fit a game on those tiny carts.

It's not the trailers:

-Fall Guy flopped because it is based on an obscure 1980s TV series that no one remembers

-Furiosa flopped because it is based on a character that didn't have enough to her to lead a movie plus they waited too long, it should have released in 2018 while excitement for Fury Road was still hot but people don't care about Mad Max nine years after the previous movie

Both movies flopped because the theatrical window has narrowed and people will not go to theaters if they know that movies will arrive for home viewing fast (Fall Guy was only in theaters for 18 days prior to streaming, that is way too short).

This was a bad terrible episode.

It seemed like the thesis was "JEDI EVIL!" and then the showrunners reached and grasped and clawed desperately to justify their premature posit. Sort of like someone yelling "EARTH FLAT!" then desperately scouring every dusty corner of the internets to prove their ridiculous notion.

But no actual midcycle refresh with revised specs. I don't see how this convinces anyone to buy a Xbox if they don't have one.

This is a two part tacit admission from Remedy: Wake II has sold below expectations and skipping the disk release was a tragic error.

They were adamantly against a box release pre and post launch and if the game had sold enough in ones and zeros, it would not be released on disk.

The video game industry routinely lies because gamers routinely believe the lies.

I watched both episodes. I gave it a fair shake. They were bad.

Lee Jung-Jae is tragically miscast. He’s wearing a formless hangdog expression for both episodes and is struggling to get his lines out because he is not a native English speaker. The opening hand to hand fight was too choreographed with too much wire work and CGI. The Jedi are portrayed as dour ineffectual charisma free galaxy police. The characters drift from set piece to set piece with barely any connective tissue as if the showrunners are more concerned with showing new places than telling a cohesive story. The sets look like they’re made of cardboard and the costuming looks like Party City cosplay, the entire production looks like a Syfy show. If this show has a big budget, it certainly does not show on the screen.

Disney should be a lot more selective about the projects they greenlight and devote budgets for. The Acolyte seems like poorly adapted fan fiction.

This isn't going to work. No one likes to share power especially not useless c-suite stooges.

By this time next year, Hulst will step back and take a secondary head of SIE studios role while Nishino will be the sole CEO of SIE. Sony is a Japanese company after all and they would prefer being run by a Japanese exec ever since Howard Stringer's not so great tenure.

Unless Furiosa has a long tail and/or makes a lot of money on the back end, this will be the end of the Mad Max franchise until WB decides to reboot it in 10 years.

People forget that Hollywood is show business (emphasis on the second word), no one likes to lose money, and generally projects will not be continued if the previous iteration breaks even or finishes in the red. It's unfortunate, I loved Fury Road and liked Furiosa and George Miller doesn't deserve to end his career with a flop.
