I'm frankly just so sick of Ps3 fanboys making up rumors due to what is the worst type of fanboyism-- caring about platforms over the games. Yes, FF13 has towns. Yes, FF13 has a world map (on which you can even ride a chocobo!). Yes, FF13 has....a special type thing from FF7 which people wanted known as a fun place. Yes, FF13 has recieved great reviews from japanese publications. Yes, FF13 has recieved crap grades from half-***** sites no one has heard about who probably don't even understand japanese. Yes, FF13 isn't such a typical JRPG, but that's good. Yes, FF13 will most likely be great, on both the Ps3 and Xbox 360.
I'm willing to bet a p suicide on this. There's just no way it's not. Final Fantasy 13 is coming, same day even. More Square-Enix titles have come to the 360 than Ps3 this generation in America. Truly, does it make sense for a console to have Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy Dissadia (or however you spell it), but not FF Versus13? Something that most likely is built on a similar framework to FF13? Anyway, I could go on but does anyone still have doubts to FFV13 coming to the 360? Or is this Tekken 6/DMC4/etc. when those were oh so obvious they would come. Yes, if FF13 had not been announced for the 360 this would seem different- perhaps Sony had a contract, etc. However, they don't. Sony would not let FF13 go but not FFV13. The reason I bring this up for the record is because of the recent FF13 hate which has sprung for no apparent reason and this unfathomable preference for Versus. Yes, that'll be a good game. Yes, it could be better (maybe). Yes, it's name will be changed before US release. But with FF13 coming out soon, I find it so...ridiculous that people who claimed to be "fans' of the series are turning their backs on the game due to fanboyism.
Frank O'Connor and Halo, back again, it sounds too good to be true.... but its a Microsoft Halo. So I am worried about about these games.
Er, all the Halo games have been overseen by Microsoft... True, but this one is being made...more or less by Microsoft. They created 343 because they want the Halo franchise to live on. Halo games = money in MSoft's eyes. That's why I am worried, how do we know what the quality of these games will be? You act like Microsoft is Nintendo. Look at Turn 10. Studio set up by Microsoft to make racing games. Consistently pumping out AAA titles.

I don't think so. We knew 343 would be taking over Halo projects after Reach. Hopefully Bungie does something else after this. An ex-Bungie guy is the head of 343. So they will definitely be a part of it. Plus Bungie has already said it was just a misuse of words on their part when they said Reach would be the last Halo game, and technically they never really said that. Halo 3= end story arc (it did). Halo: ODST= nothing of the sort (perhaps final cap on halo, etc.-meaing no odst 2). Halo Reach= last bungie halo
GamerX, you didn't respond to me a couple of pages back when you were telling me about how Halo isn't easy to pick up. W/e it's fine though, I don't care if you don't respond.
I will say this though. If anyone thinks that the main reason behinds Halo's popularity is the storyline and single player campaign, they a moron.
While this may be the case for many of the deeper fans, it's not that for the general gamer who plays Halo 3 because it's a fun multiplayer game (most popular too) that's easy to pick up and full of stuff to do. That's basically what it comes down to believe it or not. Halo 3's multiplayer is polished and balanced and a game where a person who can actually aim will get kills. It also helps that the game includes a bunch of extras that bring them back for more.
Oh, I agree it's easy to get into. I just don't agree with the fact that the game is catered toward newbs and the skill height is low. That's certainly not the case.
Halo: CE was revolutionary, and the story was also amazingly well-done. So it deserved all the accolades, including it's 9.7 here. I think the series has disappointed since then, and I'd peg Halo 2 and 3 at 8 or 8.5. Great multiplayer, but single-player's nothing to write home about.masterpinky2000

Not a single poster in this thread has said either of these things, and certainly not me. All of the people defending the story are saying it is not generic in the world of gaming by any means. That's hardly saying it's orgasmically amazing or, even more laughable, the best ever made. Actually usually when ever Halo is brought up in system wars, the first thing that is mentioned is how "amazing" its story is. Probably because the majority who have played it and understand it think the story to be damn great, which it is. This is most likely done since there is a huge gang here, most of which probably haven't played the games, who love to pretend Halo's story is basically nonexistant.
He is the last of a bread of super soldiers that were kidnapped at age 6, trained in the style of the ancient Spartans, hence what they are called, and underwent genetic augmentation half of which didn't survive or were crippled. He wasn't always a "one man army". There were usually more in a group. However, that changed after the fall of the UNSC fortress world of Reach, hence the title of the new game. Furthermore, there are other MJOLNIR variants besides the standard Mark VI "motocross" design. But you knew this right...er...right? :|
In before GamerForca says "Ender's Game did it so that sucks" I don't think he never said it sucked.. Just that Halo's story line was nothign special.. While many people are claiming its amazing and one of the best ever made, when it certainly is not.. He called it a "mediocre story". No one claimed it to be " one of the the best ever made". I see most of these arguements to be based on unfounded opinions, ignorance, and lies. Now, I reflect and realize I'm arguing with someone on the Internet. Massive Fail on my end. Massive Fail. ): Just stop pretending when someone says "I like Halo" that they're saying "Halo is the best game ever and you have to think that too!" It's annoying already.
