Priori Incantatem

Well another week gone and it has played itself out to be a very successful week of gaming. I'm up to level 33 on WoW and I've ploughed my way through several quests, still discovering new areas and monsters. I also tried to get a second nunchuk for my Wii on Saturday, it seems although game has finally restocked on plenty of Wiis after the long drought, that's pretty much all they've really stocked up on in terms of Wii-related items and so no Nunchuk. Sunday I decided to order the Harry Potter OOTP game from Amazon where I could get it £10 cheeper. Monday I decided I'd try and go back and finish Yoshi's Island DS (still a refreshingly ingenious platformer with a hint of familiarity) and by Tuesday I'd beat it in time to receive my copy of OOTP which I beat in several hours over a period of 2 days but with the whole thing over so fast I'm not sure what to make of the game, ah well I've still got plenty of bonus-unlocking to do (including a number of tedious wizard chess games, which would usually be ok but stuck in the middle of Harry Potter...) and I'll get to finding something else to fill my time with. -Gamer_152

Basking in Blood Gulch

Well ALL my exams are now completely done, 100% finished so I've just been kicking about with some games. I've played some more WoW and am up to level 32 but I might tone down how much time I spend on Warcraft(not that I'm really power gaming or anything). But apart from WoW I've just been playing a lot of things, I think I'm on like day 125 or something in an Advance Wars battle, playing Wii Sports every day and I've been alternating between Tibia, America's Army, Sonic Battle, Animal Crossing, Brain Training, Meteos and Final Fantasy 3. I've also gotten into watching Red vs. Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronicleswhich I don't wanna overhype but lets just say I've found it very enjoyable and I'm pretty excited since Red vs. Blue: TBGC100 (the final episode) is almost here, now back to trying to play all those 9 games at once.

---UPDATE---

Episode 100 has now been released and it is everything you could expect from RvB (although if you haven't watched yet I advise you to start at episode 1).

Longest Holiday!

Just to let everyone know I am still alive and I've finished my exams (well I've still got sociology but that's a week away) so I've got a very long holiday ahead of me :D . I'm up ti level 30 on World of Warcraft now and I've been playing some Wii Sports, Animal Crossing and a few others games as well. My best friend now also has a Wii and after only one day is very happy with it so I might be doing a fair bit of multiplayer with him over the holidays. This blog seems a bit short now thinking of the amount of time it's been since I last posted but this is all I can think of unless you have any questions, thnaks to everybody once again though who do keep up with my insignificant little blog :) .

My Final Fantasy Before my Exams

Well i'm now coming up for my GCSE final exams but i've still had time to squeeze in some RPG fun :) . I'm up to level 28 on Maplestory and i've also picked up Final Fantasy 3 which is a VERY fun game (as long as your not dying at the end of a dungeon with no save points) and i'd advise anyone with a DS to pick up FF3 if you haven't got your heart completely set on another title. Of course i'll have to cut back on my gaming but right now it's very enjoyable, as is the news of less Wii shortages (nintendo's main worry). I'm also happy to pass my Wii number along to any FRIENDLY gamers out there :) . -Gamer_152

The Magic of HyperText Transfer Protocols

Well I finally managed to get wireless internet throughout my house so it's alot easier to play my DS online and just as i've wanted I have my Wii online and i'm enjoying every channel, it's really useful when I can't get to the family PC although I could suggest the odd tweak here and there for the internet browser, I hope it can evolve just that little bit but it's still cool that they're providing a free (for now) browser that runs flash programs and I may do a review of it if i'm in the mood.

Apart from that i've just been playing Guild Wars and getting very overly obsessed with tetris again :P . -Gamer_152

A Diamond, A Pearl and A Plaque Girl

Well as Diamond and Pearl reviews are going up people are rejoicing over the game (well everyone but the haters) but as you may know I'm annoyed with out of my head with the release date situations over here and considering that I loved Pokemon Sapphire Version so much that I spent a total of over 200 hours on the game I'm still feeling quite cheated by the gaming industry, while I can understand holding back a game to make it better, this is something completely different. Still although I can't judge for myself, if you can pick up Pokemon Pearl and Diamond I'd recommend it based on what I've seen.

Secondly I'm slightly saddened at the decision to give Lara Croft a blue plaque as an iconic figure of video gaming, being placed along side the other fictional blue-plaqued characters such as Sherlock Holmes, don't get me wrong the Tomb Raider series is definitely a series of games to be respected but this decision saddens me in that at least over here in England there was a point in the 90s where old people stopped using the term "Nintendo" to refer to consoles and started using the term "Playstation" and with this age also came the adventures of Lara Croft herself and the way things went, including with how marketing was going she became a real symbol of the video games industry especially for all those who didn't really know that much about video games. This means that some well-aged gentleman in an office has probably really gone and decided that despite how few fictional characters get plaques that as the age of video games was growing ever stronger that the industry needed a token plaque and so who did the board associate with video games? Lara Croft. I'm not saying she's not a good video games character, I'm just saying if your going to honour video games research deeper, why not honour Mario, or Shigeru Miyamoto or a great studio like Ubisoft or Capcom.

Well that's my rant for now and whatever feedback you can give me I'll be happy to hear, I also wish Shigeru Miyamoto good luck in this years '100 most influential people' :) .

Thompson shot down

Well looks like Take-Two and Jack Thompson have finally come to an "agreement" over things and Thompson can mno longer directly sue Take-two over their games, something i'm very happy with although in theory this could lead to Thompson just attacking the next big company around.

As for my games i've had a bit of an upset on Puzzle Pirates recently (my flag fell apart) so i'm trying to play some Guild Wars, Warioware and Dark Crusade until things cool off. Yet I find myself still frustrated looking at all the "TBA" release dates for Europe at the moment, especially over Pokemon Pearl and Diamond versions and Super Paper Mario, still i'll keep on playing what i'm playing. -Gamer_152

Easter Egg Hunt (Kill every last one)

Well hello everybody, I probably would be doing a small blog on what i've been playing in the last week but I just got back from a family trip to legoland and i'm so tired. Still I wish you all a happy easter and ask you not to embrace the commercialism too much ;) .

April Noobs Day

Well I haven't blogged in a while (mainly to do with once again my serious backlog of coursework) but i've still had time for a little gaming here and there and April means various random gaming events and even some interesting events involving some gaming related websites. Some things you might want to check out are gamefaqs.com's poll of the day or the former online encyclopedia WoWwiki being revamped into the new cat-based encyclopedia Meowwiki.

As for me i've been slightly shocked at the price of the new Xbox 360 elite considering what it is but also surprised at the launch success of the PS3 so things can't be going all that bad for the gaming industry. I'm also still playing Animal Crossing: Wild World and i'm getting even more enjoyment out of World of Warcraft lately (yay level 20). I also got my DVD drive fixed yesterday so I can now run all my DVds and DVD-roms so I decided to install Dark Crusade which even only after about a day and a half of playing i'm very happy with this expansion, it's definately one of the best expansions i've played for a game and i'd recomend anybody who has the original Dawn of War to get it. Well anyway i've gotta go paint my Kodo pink now, happy April Fools everyone.

Inevitable?

Okay well it seems it is Thursday, the day after the day I was supposed to release my blog and well it's not posted is it? The reason for this is not once again a bout of flu but because as it is heading up to exam season i'm too swamped with coursework to take time out to plan, make and post an episode of my video blog (sorry to anybody I have dissapointed) and so I have decided that if I ever want to post any video blogs anymore i'm going to have to do some reschedueling. Basically from now on any time I have free time and something to say, that will be when I post my blogs.

Just so you know anyway what I would of talked about in my blog would of been that Shigeru Miyamoto and the recent Nintendo keynote he presented, the UK launch of the PS3, what I have played (and will buy) and how I have enjoyed certain games and some other stuff as well.

So until the next time I have too much time on my hands... -Gamer_152
