Try running a memtest before proceeding to other tests and give us a feedback on that.

Then it will not make any difference because the sound output is directly from your headset it does not go through your audio card.

Dear user, buying a laptop for gaming is not a wise choice. Laptops are great for their portability but they lack of power unless you pay the double amount you would have payed in order to buy an equal desktop. Your graphics card is pretty weak and you cannot change it because it is integrated to your laptop. The only option you have is to tweak your software. Laptops usually ship with bunch of programs preinstalled consuming lots of your precious CPU usage and memory. I suggest you do a CLEAN windows installation and go for Windows XP or Windows 7. Install only the necessary programs and you need. Install the latest drivers you will find (there are also some tweaked video drivers - you can google it). Even antivirus can drop down your performance but it is crucial for your safety. Everything matters. Last but not least, avoid Windows Vista at all costs. They are not for gaming.

Guys, it might work for you but might not work for others. There might be a conflict with the previous drivers installation. This is a fundamental move for drivers installation. All major manufacturers (NVIDIA and ATI) recommend that we must UNINSTALL first the previous drivers and then install the new ones in order to be sure that we have a clean installation. You can also read the article 20870 (amd.com) Paragraph 4. "Before installing the latest Catalyst drivers, any previous drivers must be uninstalled."

If your computer is working normally with a computer monitor then I suggest you check the settings and the advanced properties of your video card. Give us more information, which OS you have and the type of connectivity of your PC-->TV

You must determine if this is a software of a hardware problem. If you own a desktop then I suggest that you borrow a sound card from a friend of yours and test if the sound is ok. If it still sounds low then you probably have a software problem (a format would solve your problem - or reinstalling the sound card drivers) . If it sounds fine, then you probably have a problem either in your sound card jack, or with the card itself. If it is on-board then you must send for repair/warranty your motherboard or buy and install a new one. If you have a laptop, then there are not much to do - only formatting your PC or uninstalling and installing new drivers and pray it works. Otherwise, you must send it for repair and it will cost you... (unless you are covered from your warranty)

Always uninstall your previous drivers before installing the new drivers - even if you don't have to.
